Come say goodbye and congratulations at the reception Monday, October 9th, 2023, for longtime Saline County Justice of the Peace J.R. Walters. He has been a Justice of the Peace on the Saline County Quorum Court for 26 years, never missing a meeting. Walters announced his retirement at the September Quorum Court Meeting.

The reception will be at the Gazebo on the east side of the Saline County Courthouse. Come at 6:00 p.m. to show appreciation and thanks to J.P. Walters and his service to Saline County.
Walters was first elected to District 12 in 1994. Walters has officiated over 3,550 weddings. According to a statement from the Saline County Judge’s Office, Walters oversaw several capital improvement projects. This included courthouse renovation, jail construction, office of emergency management remodel, and a more recent solar array construction.
“J.R. Walters has served the people of Saline County for 26 years with a high degree of character and integrity,” said Saline County Judge Matt Brumley. “J.R. has exhibited humility and the heart of a servant and it has been an absolute honor to serve alongside him.”
