Are you feeling put together? Come to this puzzling event on Saturday at the Library. See which team can complete a jigsaw puzzle the fastest. The competition aptly named the Jigsaw Puzzle Showdown, is set for August 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
It will be held at the Benton branch of the Saline County Library. The address is 1800 Smithers Drive. This event is free of charge and open to all ages. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Register your team(s) of 2 or 4. Only one person should register for each team. Teams will complete a 500-piece puzzle, and teams of four will each complete a 1,000-piece puzzle. Puzzles within each of these categories will be identical and unopened at the time of the competition. Register at https://saline.libnet.info/
The competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. Any team who arrives late will be allowed to compete, but they will not be given any additional time. There will be no scheduled breaks, but team members are allowed to leave the table at any time while the competition continues. At 3:30 p.m., the final timer will sound for all participants to stop working.
The winner in each category will be the team who completes their entire puzzle first. If no team finishes their puzzle, the winner will be the team with the fewest remaining loose pieces. A “loose piece” will be defined as any piece that is not connected to ten or more other pieces. A puzzle-themed prize will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place winners in each category.
