Over the weekend, some campaign signs were vandalized. It happens every year, so it’s not new. However it is illegal to deface property like this. On a personal note, I won’t be surprised to find someone show up on video soon, given the affordability and popularity of surveillance cameras these days. The signs below were in the District 9 area of Justice of the Peace map in Saline County. Find that map on this page. Scrolling past these photos, you’ll see a different kind of political sign…
On the other end of the political sign spectrum….
We have an unknown individual or group that wants to make sure voters find the polling site. I’d love to know who put out these signs. Regardless of their intent, they are civic-oriented in this one task of putting up several signs around downtown Benton, showing the way to the “VOTING BOOF.”
The misspelling is cute, but the message is clear. It’s time to vote and they want you to know how to get there.
Melissa Glover, who took the photos below on Monday morning, October 29, 2018, stated, “I found three signs. Two at the corner behind Cleo’s at the red light on E Sevier. One at the stop sign on Conway and East.”
