Poke Cafe has been open since July 31st and I have been seeing lots of check-ins from friends on Facebook. But today, I went to see it for myself. First I went for their ribbon cutting with the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce. I got several pictures then, but I know the ones you’ll want to see are from when I went back for lunch. That’s ok, I’ve posted both.
When you walk in, there is a bar where you start your bowl. Pick a type of rice, then one or more proteins – they have salmon, tuna, shrimp, crab, chicken and tofu. (I think I named them all.) Then start adding vegetables, fruits and more. There is edamame, shredded carrots, avocado, cilantro, pineapple, sweet orange, seaweed, egg and more. You can also choose between six different sauces to go on your salad. By the time you’re finished choosing, you have a big bowl of healthy and fresh food to eat. You can also choose to get a fork or a chopstick. If you’re pitiful at using chopsticks, you might get some “training wheels” like I did. I posted the menu below too but you’re going to get some great food here and the service is awesome too.

It’s been several weeks since we told you about the new poke restaurant in Benton (“poke” rhymes with “okay”). They now have a sign on the building front and the goal opening date is Monday, July 30th. Read more about this restaurant in the earlier story below.

The building doesn’t look like it yet, but the restaurant is coming to the property that previously held TCBY. We don’t have an exact date from the restaurant owner. They do have a Facebook page you can follow. Welcome to Benton, Poke Cafe!
