Readers have been asking MySaline about Pizza For Life in the Salem area, next to Harvest Foods. They were in business for several months but took a hiatus for the holidays and never re-opened. So what happened? To find out, I talked to owner Randy Zwetz.
He confirmed that he closed the store on December 16th to observe the holidays, but also to upgrade some equipment. Randy said he was asked so much if they had a place to sit to eat, that he wanted to address this too.
“I traveled the country the last few months, visiting 63 pizza shops in 8 states and attended 2 pizza conventions,” stated Randy. “I did this to get a good idea of what I wanted to do to the new locations I have locked down.”
Those locations are the current one on Salem Road and a new one planned for Military Road next to Kroger, where Mazzios was formerly. Randy plans to add a play land for kids at the new restaurant.
“While closed down, I was looking very closely at opening a location in Sardis, but we needed a building that had a walk-in cooler/freezer and a few more amenities that comes with the location.”
Randy said the Salem location will be open February 1st and hopes to open the Military Road location close to Valentine’s Day.
