Patty Hector, former library director of the Saline County Library, has officially announced her candidacy for Saline County Justice of the Peace District 13. Her 35 years of public service have given her the skills necessary to serve on the Quorum Court.
Developing policies, budgeting, researching issues, answering constituents’ questions, and disseminating information are all transferable skills that come with managing a library organization.
“Partnering with other organizations and participating in economic development opportunities was always a large part of my job in libraries,” said Hector. Listening to the public’s concerns and sharing information to keep them abreast of county government issues is something she is very familiar with.
Her concerns for the county are:
● Local Government Transparency
● Broadband Access
● First Amendment Rights
● Giving a Voice in Government to All Saline County Residents
