A local family is hosting a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser for COTA in honor of Zane Westbrook, a Benton-area child who will be receiving a life-saving kidney transplant. COTA is Children’s Organ Transplant Association. The event is 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, February 16, at the Holland Chapel Family Life Center at 15523 I-30, Benton, AR 72015. 4-year-old Zane will receive one of his father’s kidneys at Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Funds are being raised for COTA in honor of Zane to assist with transplant-related expenses.
The cost of the breakfast will be $5 per plate. The meal will feature AYCE pancakes along with a serving of sausage, milk, juice, and coffee. There will also be information about ways that you can help including signing up for the $25 for 25 Campaign (a $25 monthly contribution for 25 months.) To donate directly click here.
“The family and friends of Zane want to encourage everyone in the community to attend our upcoming breakfast in an effort to help give Zane a second chance at life,” said Zane’s COTA team. “100% of the profits from the Pancake Breakfast will assist with transplant-related expenses.”
Zane was diagnosed with FSGS at the age of 19 months. Local volunteers are raising an estimated $55,000 for COTA in honor of Zane to assist with transplant-related expenses throughout his lifetime. Zane’s family has asked for assistance from the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA), a national charity based in Bloomington, Indiana. COTA is dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses. COTA’s services are completely free of charge, and 100% of funds generated by COTA community fundraising campaigns are available for transplant-related expenses.
