Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

Saline River at Benton.

Until Tuesday morning.
IMPACTS…
At 28.0 feet, Homes may be flooded on River Street and the side streets. The manufactured home subdivision along Henry Street is flooding. River reached 29.3 feet in September 2008 from Hurricane Gustav rainfall.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 25.9 feet.
– The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.5 feet Sunday morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning.
– Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

At 920 PM Saturday, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 10 and 15 inches of rain have fallen.
WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
WHERE…A portion of central Arkansas, including the following counties, Pulaski and Saline.
WHEN…Until 10PM.
IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
