J.R. Walters
James Robert Walters, better known as, “J.R.,” 90 of Benton, Arkansas was born to the late, Ed Walters and Lessie (Martin) Walters, on Monday, July 23rd, 1934, in Houston, Mississippi. He entered his Heavenly home on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, surrounded by love.
J.R. enjoyed gardening and landscaping, watching tv; especially Gunsmoke, the news, and sports tv, and he loved going to his church, the Church of Rock Creek. J.R. was also a proud member of council as a Justice of the Peace for Saline County for 26 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his four siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mary “Helen” Walters; son, Gary Walters of Florida; daughter, Renea Walters; grandson, Ryan Poulos; his brother, Leon Walters; along with other family and friends who all love him and will cherish each memory they had together.
His celebration of life will be held on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at 12:00 P.M. with a visitation one hour prior at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
