Everette Milton Hatcher III, 63, of Alexander went to be with the Lord July 7th, 2024. Everette was born May 16th, 1961, in Memphis, TN, to Everette and Jane Hatcher. Everette attended Evangelical Christian School of Cordova, TN, where he played basketball and ran cross country. After graduating from ECS in 1980, he went to college at Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis) and graduated with a degree in business administration in 1982.
In 1983, Everette moved to Little Rock to work in the broom business alongside his father and his late uncle, Harold Hatcher. That same year he met the love of his life, Jill Sawyer, at First Baptist Church in Little Rock. With commitment in their hearts, the two wed on December 7th, 1985. To this union four children were born. Everette took pride in providing for his family. He did so working at the family business, Little Rock Broom Works, for 34 years. In 2017, he sold the family business and took a job at ADEQ with the State of Arkansas. He also served as a Justice of the Peace in Saline County from 2015 until his passing. He was a dependable, hardworking man no matter the job at hand.
Everette was a faithful member of Fellowship Bible Church. He lived a life of great faith. Jesus Christ was his rock and because of that, he was steady and unshakable through the storms of life. He was a wise counselor and encourager to many friends and family members. Everette wanted everyone to know Jesus and was ready to tell anyone he met about the hope of our Savior. He led many to Christ in his years on this earth. He passed this strong foundation on to his family and his legacy will live on through them. Many will come to know the hope and love of Christ because of the foundation he laid.
Everette’s greatest joys were his kids and grandkids. He rarely missed a ballgame, a school event, or a weekly lunch date with them. He attended many concerts and sporting events with his sons. He was incredibly proud of each of them and if you were to spend any amount of time with him, it was easy to see.
Everette is survived by his parents, Everette and Jane Hatcher; his loving wife, Jill Hatcher; four children and their spouses Everette (Rett) and Kari Hatcher, Hunter and Ashley Hatcher, Murphey Iradukunda, and Wilson and Camille Hatcher. Four grandchildren, Luke, Olivia and Ray Hatcher and Hannah Grace Iradukunda, and a grandson, Joseph Everette Hatcher due in November; three sisters and their spouses, Vicki and Robert Parks, Beth and Brian Sayle, Nancy and Mark Daniel and many nieces and nephews.
