Meda Hulda Hurliman Kyzer “Pete”, age 96, of Alexander, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Meda’s parents migrated to the US from Switzerland in March, 1913. They landed in New York, but settled in Sarasota, Florida for a while, where Meda was born March 18, 1926.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful church member. She loved yard work, gardening & flowers, and she never met a stranger. Her cakes were enjoyed by many.
Meda was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Anna Hurliman; husband, Lester W. Kyzer; six sisters, Fannie Hurliman, Emilie Brown, Martha Perryman, Anna Kinsel, Flora Young, and Bertha Cohrt; brother, Johnny Hurliman; and a great-granddaughter, Erin Kyzer.
She leaves behind three sons, Leroy (Carolyn) Bryant, Freddie (Debbie) Donaldson, and Billy (Donna) Benton; six grandchildren, Kris Kyzer, Jared Kyzer, Nathan Kyzer, Stacy Cunningham, Bill Kyzer, and Michelle Beaty; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Kris Kyzer, Bill Kyzer, Jared Kyzer, Nathan Kyzer, Blake Kyzer, Brandon Kyzer, and Easton Kyzer. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Beaty and Preston Kyzer.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 19 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 10:00 a.m. Private burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.

Linda Louise (Hopkins) Smith was born on May 24th, 1941. She was born and raised in Benton, Arkansas by her parents, William “Bill” Hopkins and Madeline “Auline” (Cash) Hopkins and had two siblings, David Hopkins and Billie June Carson. In 1960, Linda married her true love, Gerald Smith. She loved animals of all kinds and was an active member at First Baptist Church of Benton where she cherished her time in the choir. She was a stunning, fashionable woman with a passion for jewelry and had a beautiful soul. Throughout her life she gained a big family that filled her heart with love and joy. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and C.Y. Sullivan. Linda is survived by her husband, Gerald, daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Russell Gaines along with 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. On December 12th at 11:00 p.m. Linda was called home to Heaven at the age of 81.
A visitation is scheduled at 12:00 p.m. and the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. Following the service, we will lay her to rest at New Rosemont Memorial Park in Benton, Arkansas. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Linda L. Smith.
Edward Charles Lee, 67 of Benton, passed away on December 13, 2022 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on December 5, 1955 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to the late James and Eileen Foley Lee. Edward served in the United States Marine Corp. and was former owner of Eddie’s Jewelry Repair.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Bud and Rachel Lee, Anna Foley and great niece, Breanna Lee.
He is survived by his brothers, James (Gail) Lee and Stephen (Sharon) Lee, sister, Kathryn Anne Harper and two nieces, two nephews, one great nephew and nine great nieces.
Cremation was entrusted to Ashby Funeral Home.
Michael Faulkner, 53, of Mabelvale, Arkansas passed away on December 11, 2022 in Benton, Arkansas.
Michael was born January 18,1969 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Betty Brown Turley and Loyd Faulkner.
Michael was a professional fire proofer and enjoyed working diligently to keep his community safe. Michael enjoyed boxing in his youth and was always eager to talk about matches and movies that involved the boxing community. Michael was also an avid shuffleboard player and loved playing with his family, friends and other competitors. When Michael wasn’t watching boxing matches and playing shuffleboard, he was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.
Michael is survived by his father, Loyd Faulkner and loving wife of 21 years, Penny Faulkner; children, Michael Robert Faulkner (Sara), Tabitha Goodson and Kelly Goodson. Grandchildren, Emily Faulkner, Clayton Faulkner, Kylie Faulkner, Brytni Dunkin, Kaleb Dunkin, Justin Rising and Emily Rising. Great grandchild, Xavier Dunkin and half sister, Rhonda Rushing. Michael is also survived by countless friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loved ones.
Michael is preceded in death by his brothers, Roger Blankenship and Terry Faulkner; friends and many loved ones.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 6pm until 8pm at Roller-Alcoa funeral home. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2pm at Roller-Alcoa funeral homes. Burial will follow the service at Faulkner Cemetery in Alexander, Arkansas.
