Sarah Noelene Carson, age 83, of Benton, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was born September 6, 1939 in Raleigh, Mississippi to Noel and Eunice Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Carson, her parents and in-laws, George and Maxine Carson.
Noelene leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Stacey Patterson, son, Adam ((Jenny). Grandsons Noah, Micah and Eli Patterson and granddaughters Olivia and Noelle Carson, sisters Ima Jean Flusche of Muskogee, OK and Bettye Waddle of Trophy Club, TX. Also her Covenant Sunday School class whom she considered extended family and many close friends.
Noelene was a lifelong Christian and a member of First United Methodist Church in Benton. She served on many committees there over the years. She grew up in Jackson, MS. and Pine Bluff AR where she finished high school. After graduating from Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) she taught elementary school for 37 years. 30 of those years were in Benton where she was Teacher of the Year in 1986. She kept up with many of her former students and parents over the years.
Noelene loved family gatherings and to cook for her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, her flower garden, going places with friends and Elvis music. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 10 in the CLC room at First United Methodist Church in Benton. A celebration of Noelene’s life will follow in the sanctuary at 11:30 a.m.
Mary Lou Allen, age 86, of Benton, AR passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was born March 27, 1936 in Bauxite, AR. She retired after a long career at Saline County Circuit Clerk’s Office where she met the love of her life, Buddy. Mary Lou and Buddy married January 14, 1955.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband Buddy of Benton, AR; three daughters Vickey Wingerter (Vicki Fraser) of Conway; Patricia Bennett (David) of Quitman; Linda Creasey of Benton; and one son, John Allen of Benton.
Mary Lou is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren:

Murl Columbus Curtis passed from this world December 3, 2022 in Hot Springs at the age of 83. He was born February 14, 1939 to Fred and Sarah Ann (Glenn) Curtis in Mt. Park, Oklahoma, the youngest of 15 children. Murl served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962, and then retired from NCR (The National Cash Register Co.) in 2000, after 38 years of service. He was a volunteer with Fountain Lake Volunteer Fire Department since it was formed in 1977, serving as firefighter, chief, assistant chief, and board member. After retiring, he was always ready to help with anything that was needed in the community. This could range from electrician, wrecker service, and babysitting to goat sitting in one day.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother; grandparents, Alexander L. & Gemina James Curtis and Burton Payton & Nancy Ann Doan Glenn; brothers, Dewel “Jake” (Blanche), Ralph (Sue), Bryan (Anna Mae & Barbara), Miley (Lovie & Thelma), Ira B. (Collene & Earnestine); sisters, Louise Carney (Mike), Alma, Willie May, Duffie, and Ima Dee (Gilbert) Yates.
Murl is survived by his wife of 66 years, Willie Mae Hensley Curtis, which they married October 15, 1956 along with Tex and Janie Keim; two sons, Steven Douglas Curtis of Benton and Howard Edward Curtis of Hot Springs; granddaughter, Amy Marie Curtis (Brad) Smith of Springdale; three grandsons, Steven Matthew (Kate) Curtis of Forsyth, Missouri, Bryan Douglas Curtis of Jessieville, and Joshua Ryan (Allison) Curtis of Maumelle; great-granddaughter, Hailey Bo Smith of Springdale; two great-grandsons, Curtis Anderson Smith of Springdale and Zaxtyn Alexander Curtis of Missouri; special family members, Jo Ann Curtis (Chalky) Neighbors of Hot Springs, Robert Curtis of Hot Springs, and Jay (Sarah) Weidman of North Dakota; and numerous nieces, nephews, & friends who were all loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Ault, Jason Curtis, Alan Ault, Kyle Peters, Mike Rigsby, Monte Curtis, and Jeff Curtis. Honorary pallbearers will be Paron Class of 1957, all former and current members of Fountain Lake Volunteer Fire Department, NCR Retirees, Darwin Bergan, Dr. Timothy Paul English, Chalky Neighbors, Tex Keim, Steve Sawyer, and Brian Shannon.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 9 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Old Union Cemetery at Bland Loop and Steel Bridge Road. Bro. Scott Culpepper and Bro. Jeremy Thomas will be officiating.

Ida Boise Reaves, 88, of Benton, Arkansas went to her heavenly home on
November 30, 2022.
Boise was born October 14, 1934, to her loving parents, Moses and Annie Kidd.
After college, Boise began her fulfilling career in education where she taught for
38 years. Boise retired from teaching at Pine Haven and began serving her
community. Boise served the Lord at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in
Benton, Arkansas.
Boise is survived by her sons, Stuart (Beth) Reaves and Rev. Phillip Reaves and
daughter Sharon (Mike) Niemczyk. Boise leaves behind her grandchildren, Kelley
Reaves, Melissa Belknap, Robert Reaves, Edward Niemczyk, and Theresa Barnes;
and great-grandchildren Charley, William, and Lumen Reaves. Boise is preceded in
death by her loving husband Gordon Reaves; brothers, Bill Kidd and Gean Kidd,
and sister, Mary Jane Allinson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church in Benton,
Arkansas at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, December 5, 2022. Burial will follow at
Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas. A rosary will be held at Roller-Alcoa
Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas from 6:00 P.M.-6:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 4, 2022.
Visitation will follow the rosary 6:30-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities
of Arkansas, Our Lady of Fatima School, Bauxite Memorial Museum, or Arkansas
Hospice.
