Eddie Dale Price, 64, passed away October 21, surrounded by his family. Ed was born October 27, 1957, in Little Rock, the son of Helen and E.C. Price, both of whom predeceased him. He is survived by his loving wife Jane Blaylock, her daughter Megan Boyd (Kris Sikes), grandson Miles, sister Anne Price, niece Sommer Rosa (Mike), nephew James Jones (Debbie), great nephews Michael, Joseph and Judah and great niece Violet.
Ed retired from Little Rock and Western Railroad as well as Grapevine Wine and Spirits. He graduated from Bryant High School in 1975, where he starred in football, basketball and track. Ed attended Louisiana Tech University and the University of Central Arkansas, where he was an active and beloved member of Phi Lambda Chi fraternity. He remained close to many of his fraternity brothers.
To say Ed was a man of many talents is a gross understatement. He excelled at waterskiing, snow skiing and added baseball to the list of his sports accomplishments as an adult, playing many years in the men’s senior baseball league in Little Rock. Ed loved fishing and hunting – particularly deer hunting and spending time with his friends at deer camp.
Ed was a guy you wanted on your side no matter what you were doing, something the many friends he made working for years on the Riverfest committee will attest to as he outworked them all. While a clerk at Grapevine, he learned all there was to know about wine and high-end bourbons, sharing that knowledge with his customers.
He loved to garden and share his bounty with friends. He could fix anything and was the go-to guy for many things for many people. He collected vinyl records and vintage amplifiers. Ed was a huge fan of his grandson Miles, the Texas Rangers, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Green Bay Packers. Little Rock and Western Railroad was owned by Green Bay Packaging, and Ed’s long tenure with the railroad led to friendships that meant Ed got to attend many Packers games, experiences he treasured.
He was known as “Big Ed” for much more than his physique. He was truly larger than life and will be missed by everyone who knew him – all of whom are invited to a celebration of his life from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 6, in the purple room at Bishop Park in Bryant.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart Faith Fund through the Baptist Health Foundation. Ed’s friends and family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and therapists at Baptist Health for their care.
Bonnie Ann Morehead, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, age 85, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2022. She was born on March 11, 1937 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to the late Dave Fullington and Crystal Fullington Doughty. Bonnie was of the Baptist faith and attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Benton for many years. Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents; and also her husband, James Wesley (Jimmy) Morehead; son, James Morehead; daughter, Brenda Harper; grandson, Jeremy Carnes; sister, Wanda Thornberry (Clinton); brothers, Nyle Fullington, Murl Fullington, Gene Fullington (Jean) and Tab Winemiller (Jackie).
Bonnie was a strong woman who never quit or gave up on life. She lived her life in forward motion. Sitting around was NOT her strong suit! She loved her family! Short on words, and not comfortable showing emotions, terms of endearment just weren’t her thing. Mom showed love in other ways. By giving. By doing. Whether that was running errands all over town for someone or sitting at the house all day waiting on the repairman because we had to work. She was always available. She loved her grandkids! Jeremy, who she lost when he was just seven, and Chelsea. Bonnie was blessed with a life long enough to attend Chelsea’s graduations, see her get married to a grandson-in-law, Trent, whom she adored, and she was there for the birth of her two great-grandchildren, Laura and Owen. Spending time with them was a highlight that brought her so much happiness.
In August, 2021, Bonnie began going to Pleasant Hill Adult Daycare, or “the shop”, as she called it. It didn’t take her long to make great friends and to make an impression on everyone she met there. She had such a great time there! In September, 2022, the decision was made that extra help was needed and Bonnie moved into the Daisy House, owned by Pleasant Hill Senior Services. And just as she did everywhere, she made an impression on the people there and they soon became dear friends. The care and compassion that was shown to her was beyond amazing and we are so thankful that we had them with us through this journey.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Jeff Morehead (Paula); Granddaughter, Chelsea Tompkins (Trent); Great-Grandchildren, Laura Grace and Owen Tompkins; Sisters-in-Law, Joyce Fullington and Ila Fullington, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Bonnie lived her life to the fullest she possibly could until just a day before she died. And for that we are so very thankful. We want to continue, as we know she would want, to live our life in a forward motion. Please join us at Ashby’s Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas to share stories and celebrate a life well lived.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 27, 6 to 8 pm and funeral services will be the following morning at 10 am. Bonnie will be laid to rest in Sheridan at Lost Creek Cemetery.
