Brenda Jean Scalici, age 65 of Little Rock went to be with her Lord on October 19, 2022. She was born August 1, 1957 in Little Rock. Brenda was Crown Victorian of her class at UALR, and a 1st grade School Teacher at Otter Creek Elementary. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Alton Leroy Dickey, and her husband, Terri Scalici.
Survivors, mother, Alice Brown Dickey Livingston, brother, Alton Dickey Jr., sister, LuAnn Massa, nephew, Marc Massa, great nephews, Branden Massa, Adrian Massa, great nieces, Aryonna Massa, Trinity Massa.

Krystle “ LeeAnn” Wilder, 28 of Benton, was tragically taken from us on October 17, 2022. She was born on March 3, 1994 in Benton to Howard Lee Wilder and Samantha Ann Mayberry Wilder.
LeeAnn was a very loving member of our family and will be greatly missed. She was a preschool teacher and loved her children that she kept daily. LeeAnn loved going on drives while blaring her music. Her daughter, Amani was the light of her life. She enjoyed nothing more than hanging out with her family.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Gabriella Hatfield; paternal and maternal grandparents. LeeAnn is now reunited with them.
LeeAnn is survived by her daughter, Amani Hatfield, parents, Howard Wilder of Benton and Samantha Wilder of Jessieville, brothers, Josh (Shelton) Wilder of Kensett, Andrew (Brianna) Wilder of Lebanon, Missouri, sisters, Deandra (Dylan) Elliott of Lebanon, Missouri, Vicki Warner of Benton and Macey Wilder of Lebanon, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Maleah, Briana, Emma, Trenton, Brooklyn, Sophia and Eden.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Wilder, Maleah Toms, Josh Wilder, Dylan Mitchell, Brandon Lamere, Zae Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Sean Lamere and Tim Price.
Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday with burial to follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Bauxite.
Visitation will be on Sunday at Ashbys, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Larry Foster, 61 of Benton, was tragically taken from us on October 17, 2022. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, Pawpaw and friend. He was a kind, gentle soul who never met a stranger.
Larry was born on February 22, 1961 to Darrell and Barbara Garner Foster. He graduated from Harmony Grove High School in Camden, Arkansas in 1979. Larry was highly respected and dedicated employee at PPG Industries in Alexander, AR. In 2003 Larry was happily married to Dalenda Foster who was his best friend and partner. Larry and Dalenda were looking forward to celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary this spring on an Alaskan Cruise.
Larry was known as N5LDF in his amateur ham held radio community. He spent many hours talking with people all over the world. Larry was the “master” at tinkering around the house on various projects. Larry loved his Goldwing, and Harley Davidson. He always had a good time riding his bike and going camping at Iron Mtn. every year. Larry also had a passion for cars and still talked about his Camaro from his younger days. After he met Dalenda, he could be seen driving his sporty white Jeep that had the license plate on the front that read Dalenda’s Baby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Dalenda, three children, B.J. (Veronica) Foster, Misti Hartwick and Joshua Loftin. He was Pawpaw to eight grandchildren, Alyssa Key, Ayanna Foster, Kyler, Brady and Lane Hartwick, Jyah Cooksey, Jaelyn and Jada Loftin, one great grandchild, Jordan Cooksey, brother, Karl (Crystal) Foster.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.
A Memorial service in his honor will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m.
Jimmy Gatlin, 93, of Lewisville, TX passed away surrounded by loved ones on October 19th, 2022.
Jimmy was born on December 12th, 1928 to Robert and Carmon Gatlin in Benton, AR. Jimmy joined the Navy in 1947. After the Navy, he went on to study Cosmetology in Little Rock.
In 1950, he met Esther Johnson, and were married in 1953. They moved from Little Rock to the Benton/Salem area in 1975 where he retired.
After retiring, Jimmy became a passionate woodworking craftsman who could be found in his workshop working pieces for family and friends. Eventually moved to Lewisville, TX where he was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Jimmy was a kind and loving husband and father and will be deeply missed. Jimmy was predeceased by his mother, Carmon; his father, Robert; and his brother, Robert. He is survived by Esther, his wife; Suda, his sister; his three children: Frank, James, Linda and his grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at Smith-Benton Funeral Home in Benton, AR on Friday, October 28th 2022 at 10am.

Dee Wayne Carter, 79, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away on October 17, 2022, at his home.
Wayne was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Don Wallace and Rheudine Carter on November 20, 1942. He was proud to serve his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed lifting weights and riding his Harley Davidson.
Wayne is survived by his daughters, Sonya Goforth (David) and Tonya Miliam (Eddie) both from Benton; brothers, Gaston Carter (Katherine), David Carter (Linda) of Hot Springs, and Gary Carter (Sharon); sisters, Leta Carter, Donna Miller (Tom), and Billie Harden; grandchildren Darlene Scott, Brandy Rogers, Samantha Carter, Brittany Powell (Danny), and David Dove (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Nora Powell, Brooks Powell, Avery Dove, and Henley Dove. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darrell Wayne Carter; and sister, Mary Carter.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 11:00 AM with a visitation thirty minutes prior at Pinecrest Memorial Park with Kim Hammer Officiating service.

James Barron “Jim” Martin, age 86, of Benton, AR went to be with his heavenly father on October 20, 2022. Jim was born October 29, 1935, to James Lee and Lucy Barron Martin in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Ann Rose Martin, his parents, a brother Lawrence Pilgrim and two sisters, Flora Roebuck and Helen Whitehead, and brother-in-law Nick Hamilton.
Jim was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he faithfully worshipped and actively served the Lord for over 45 years. His heart for service found him filling many roles the office of a deacon, outreach director (Ministry Coordinator) teacher, treasurer, and trustee, brotherhood director, and a member/chairman of a number of special committees. He received his secondary education in Louisiana public schools, attended Louisiana Tech and completed an undergraduate degree in Geology at Northeast Louisiana University his career path took him to the oil fields of south Louisiana, the Gulf and west Texas. There was a stint as a math teacher in Louisiana public schools which led to his employment with Northeast Louisiana Contractor Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.
Due to his Association experience in Louisiana, he accepted the position of Assistant Manager with the Arkansas branch of the Associated General Contractors of America. After 22 years, he left the Association to become the first director of the established state agency to license Real Estate Appraisers. As its director he had the distinction of developing, implementing, and managing for the next twenty years, the Arkansas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board. It was during this tenure that he and several board members became actively involved in the formation of the National Association of Regulatory Officials of which he subsequently was elected president. In recognition of his many years of service to the Association he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award on his retirement.
On moving to Saline County in 1974, Jim was elected to the Harmony Grove School Board on which he served for ten years. In the mid 80’s, Governor Clinton appointed him to the Saline County Quorum Court, completing the term of a deceased member. His most recent community service calling was a Commissioner to the Benton Public Utility Commission, where he has served for 17 years.
Jim leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Charlotte Hamilton of Oak Grove, LA; daughters, Cindy Stracener (Doug) of Benton, Sheri Kelley (Jeff) of Alma, AR; one son, James Martin, Jr, (Karen) of Freeport , FL; five grandchildren, Katy Kennedy (Tommy) of El Dorado, AR, Conor Martin (Michelle) of Lebanon, TN, Bret Stracener of Benton, AR, Blake Kelley of Cove City, NC, Loryn Kelley of Alma, AR; three great-grandchildren, Adeline Rose Kennedy, Elise Marie Kennedy and Sophie Mae Martin and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 24 at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd, Benton. A celebration service of Jim’s life will be at Calvary Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 25,2022 with Reverends Clif Springer and Eric Schick officiating.
The church is located at 612 Valley View Rd., Benton. A graveside service will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Alexander, AR. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, sons-in-law and longtime friend, co-laborer in Christ, Elbert Ragsdale, and Ron Dunning .

Kenneth Ray McDade, 65, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. He was born to the late, Bass and Donna (Bragg) McDade, on Wednesday, October 2, 1957, in Torrance, California. He loved riding motorcycles, watching Street Outlaws, and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to Jimmy’s and drinking coffee with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Karen “Sis” Henderson.
He is survived by his two sons, Justin McDade (Kristi) and Kenny Ray McDade, Jr.; three grandchildren, Makayla, Danyelle (Cayden), and Justus; one great grandchild, Attalia; sister, Sandy (Vance); four brothers, Dean (Jan), Robert (Teresa), David, and Ronnie (JoAnn); along with a host of other family and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
