Nowlin Kenneth Roaten, Jr. 74 of Bauxite, passed away on October 16, 2022. He was born on June 6, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Nowlin Kenneth and Martha Ann Cockrell Roaten.
Nowlin graduated from Trezevant High School in Memphis, Tennessee, attending Union University and UALR , joining the Army and retiring after 37 years of service. Nowlin was the owner of A1 Windows and Floors and an employee of Birch Tree Communities.
Nowlin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lynn Terrell.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia L. Roaten, sons, Nowlin Kenneth Roaten III of Alexander, Steve McKinney of Moss Point, Mississippi, step daughters, Lora Snodgrass of Benton and Sandra Cook of Benton, sister, Charlotte Watkins of Ohio and Susan Atawa of Oregon; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday with Bro. Kim Hammer officiating at Philippi Cemetery at Point Cedar, Arkansas off Hwy 84.

Deborah (Debbie) Dean Burton, age 70, died October 17, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born May 18, 1952 in Hot Springs to Dean (Pete) and Faye Bell. She lived the majority of her life in Saline County. She graduated Bryant High School in 1970 and Henderson State College in 1974. She began a career in education as the first kindergarten teacher at Pine Haven Elementary in Bauxite and a preschool teacher in Benton before taking a leave of absence to raise her daughters. Debbie returned to teaching in 1994 and taught upper elementary at Howard Perrin in Benton for 23 years. She grew up attending Salem Methodist Church and was a member of Benton’s First United Methodist Church as an adult.
Debbie’s passions in life were her family and teaching. She also loved attending plays and going out to eat with her treasured Dinner Crew. She is survived by her three girls, Heather Kreulen and husband, Kyle, Lauren Border and husband, Mike, all of Benton, and Amelia Baxter and husband, Matt, of Fayetteville. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Grace and Olivia Kreulen; Blaire, Blake, and Brynn Border; Boothe and Blythe Baxter. There are countless students and friends that she would consider family.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents and beloved aunt, Emogene Dugan. We are comforted by the happy reunion they no doubt have had.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton.

This non-profit helps ensure that all students have their basic needs met in order to provide them a strong foundation for learning. Carl Houston Reasons, 77, of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away October 14, 2022. He was born May 16, 1941 in Humboldt, Tennessee to the late Carl Redic and REba Mae (Richardson) Reasons.
Carl leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Angela Tucker; son, Shane Reasons; brother, Roger Reasons; and many family members and friends who love Carl and will miss him always.
Memorial will be held by family in Tennessee.

Ruby Jewell Ridling Harrell went home to her Lord on October 14, 2022 just 4 days after her 103rd birthday. She was born on October 10, 1919 in Solgohachia, Arkansas to William and Etta Ridling. Ruby was married to J.R. Harrell for 68 years until his death in 2011. They lived most of their lives in Benton, AR before retiring to Navy Landing on beautiful Lake Ouachita. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Cecil Harrell as well as many other friends and family members.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Harrell; grandson, John Harrell and wife, Kim; grandson, Michael Harrell and wife, Darby; great-grandsons, Blayne and Chance Johnson and Bryan Morgan and great-granddaughters, Lucah, Ruby, and Maude Harrell.
A graveside service will be on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 at 2 P.M. at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas.

Sam Wilburn Neal, Sr., 78, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022. He was born to the late, George and Mildred (Brotherton) Neal, on Tuesday, April 25, 1944, in England, Arkansas. In his spare time, he really enjoyed fishing and picking up aluminum cans, but most of all, spending time with his family. Sam always loved giving everyone—especially his family, a hard time!
He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 55 years, Norma Eva Mae Neal; three brothers, George, Dotsey, and Doc Neal; and two sisters, Bertha and Mary.
He is survived by his two loving sons, Sam Neal, Jr. and his wife, Conni, and Paul Neal and his wife, Lavel; one grandson, Wade Neal; one great grandchild, Savvy Neal; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends who all love him and will miss him dearly.
Celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 20th, 2022, at 11:30 A.M. with the visitation the evening prior from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Dial and Dudley Funeral Home.
