Bonnie Louise Sullivan, 86 of Benton, passed away August 25, 2016. She was born October 22, 1929 in Bauxite, Arkansas to the late James and Willie Henson Ramsey. Bonnie was known for her constant smile, gentle spirit, belly laugh, selfless heart and undying love for her family and friends, never missing an opportunity to (sit on the swing and talk) or (sit on the swing and share her stories). Her devotion to the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life. She loved Jesus. Wife to one, mother of 2, grandmother to many, her sweet and loving spirit will be remembered and cherished by each of us that had the privilege of knowing her. The callouses on her fingertips were proof of her love for “picking and grinning!” Which was her element-accompanying Grandpa (Gene) on the guitar, piano, bass, or anything else with strings, filling the air with Bluegrass music. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Eugene Sullivan, brothers, John, James and Billy Ramsey, sisters, Lillie Whitmire, Dorothy Ramsey, Florence Ramsey and grandson, Blake Gullion. Rita Kay Thomas, 62, of Benton woke up in the arms of Jesus Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was born April 14, 1954 in Ft. Worth Texas, to James and Dorothy Giacoletti. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gary Thomas Sr., her brother, Richard “Bo” Giacoletti, twin sister, Nita Evans, and grandson, Corey Austin Thomas. Glenn Eldon Baugh, 91 of Bryant, passed away August 31, 2016. He was born October 5, 1924 in Brown Station, Missouri to the late Wesley and Lena Stone Baugh. Glenn was a veteran of The United States Navy, serving during WWII. Janice “Gale” Burks, 80, of Benton went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 2, 2016, at Saline Memorial Hospice House in Bryant. Gale was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Ormand Kermit King and Clara Krauss King and grew up and received her education in Reno, Nevada. She retired in 2005 after 21 years of service as executive assistant to the Chief of Police in Benton. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and fun evenings with her Bunko group. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Connie Snyder and a son Charles Patrick Burks. Brenda Lucille Fisher, of Alvin, TX, formerly of Hot Springs Village, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the age of 76. Brenda was born to parents Ralph and Evelyn Gilger on May 30, 1940 in Bakersfield, CA. She grew up an only child and graduated from North High School and Bakersfield Community College. In 1961, after a 6 week courtship, she married Karl F. Fisher. Throughout their 43 year marriage they lived in Alaska, California, Texas and finally retiring in Hot Springs Village, AR. Brenda’s passions included baking, gardening, creating crafts, sewing, knitting, traveling, line dancing, providing happiness to her grandchildren and those around her. She spent several years as a preschool teacher at a Mother’s Day Out program in Houston, TX. Brenda is survived by her two daughters, Lori Hayes (Kevin) and Karen Dorn (Grant); her grandchildren, Jacob Hayes, Derek Hayes (Krystal, great grand-daughter Rhea), Marina Sweeten, Nicholas Sweeten and Nathaniel Fisher. He was a member of the United States Air Force, after his service to our country, he worked as a mechanical engineer. Jack Edwin Hulett, Sr., passed away on September 2, 2016. He was born on September 25, 1932, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Henry Hulett; his mother, Mae Hulett. He is survived by Audrey Rigsby, the mother of his children; his children Jack Edwin Hulett, Jr. and his wife Ellen Hulett; Sheron Ann Greer and her husband Ricky Greer; and Ronald Lee Hulett; his sister Elizabeth Mantooth; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom he regarded as key parts of his family. Jack loved all of his extended family with all of his heart, and his greatest pleasure in life was to spend time with them and play his music. He lived his life very unselfishly, and enjoyed doing as much for others as he could. Jack graduated from Sylvan Hills High School, and had a long career as a bricklayer. Jack loved to spend his time playing music, and volunteered often at the Benton and Bryant senior adult centers. He was an accomplished musician, and was invited to play at the inauguration of President Bush / Vice President Cheney. He had a large number of friends, and will be remembered by them and every member of his family for his pleasant personality, generosity, unselfishness and willingness to help. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Marguerite Eliza Keenan, of Benton, was born to John B. Vaughan and Linnie Bell Lindsey Vaughan in Bearden, Arkansas. She was at the Saline Memorial Hospice House when, with her daughter by her side, she shed her earthly body to enter the presence of Jesus and many loved ones on Sunday, August 21, 2016. She attended Fordyce schools and was chosen to be Homecoming Queen her senior year. She was a beautiful and stylish lady; known for spiffy dressing including heels! Her most important attributes were her love for the Lord, joy of life, the desire to help others and love for her family and friends. She could always find something to laugh at. Her giggle was infectious! She maintained many childhood friendships, including a friend in Alabama, Byron Atkinson, with whom she had started grade school with. She trained at Hotel Dieu in Beaumont, TX to be an X-ray technician. While in Beaumont she met her future husband, “Red” Keenan. They married and she helped raise her step-son, Lynn. He was born with a life-threatening heart condition and not expected to live past adolescence. However, with caring persistence she found a cardiologist to treat him and he lived to be 64. After moving to Houston, Marguerite and Red adopted a three-week old baby girl from the Homes of St. Mark and named her Eliza Samme. Marguerite abruptly quit her job as an X-ray technician and devoted her life to raising her daughter. She was a model mother and made sure to raise her daughter to love Jesus and to have a caring and compassionate heart. She and Samme moved to Arkansas in 1980 after Red’s passing. She worked at Sears, as a cashier at Razorback Car Wash, volunteered at Holland Chapel Baptist Church, and Saline Memorial Hospital. Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Homer, Pete, Coby and Jesse Vaughan, sister, Martha Lacy, husband, Eldred Samuel Keenan, and step son, Lynn Keenan. Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Samme Wallace and husband Charles; grandchildren, Brian Keenan and Evan and Olivia Wallace; daughter-in-law, Gaylain Keenan; nieces, Judy Davis (Harrell) and Linda Sanders (Carlton), and nephews, Mike Vaughan (Connie), Billy Vaughan (Mary), and Jim Lacy (Janie). Jimmie Ray Robinson, age 78, of Bauxite, was born on June 11, 1938 and passed away on September 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Brown and Bessie Mae, along with a brother, George Edward all of Jacksonville, AR. Jimmie was a graduate of Jacksonville High School in 1957. While in school, he worked at Dallas Johnson’s Grocery Store. After high school he spent time in the Navy. He worked at Pace’s Department Store and later at Bob’s Men Shop, all in Jacksonville. He then fell in love with the mobile home business and worked a number of years at Big 3 Mobile Homes. Jimmie would light the room with his smile and could tell stories that could go on for days. He loved horses, rodeos, and spending every spare moment with his family, especially his grandkids. Robert C., Bob, Donaldson, passed over the bar (from a nautical prayer) September 3, 2016. He was born June 29, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida. Donaldson was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, 8th Western Rivers District, having served as a division and unit commander, as well as branch chief on the national public affairs staff at the division and flotilla level during his 37 years. Donaldson retired from UAMS in 2004 as director of the TeleMedical interactive video network. He played a primary role in the development of the Arkansas Video Network that today connects over 500 hospitals and educational institutes through the state. After retirement he established Communications Associates, a consulting firm that developed the first interactive video “wireless” network in Arkansas. He also established the UAMS Audio Visual Production Center and Instructional Television Division which purchased the first color television camera and video recorder in the state while working with national companies such as Bell & Howell and Curcon to produce macroscopic and micro surgical video equipment. Before going to UAMS he was a photojournalist with KATV Channel 7. He also served as assistant national advertising manager for the Arkansas Democrat/Gazette and advertising manager of J.C. Penney in Pine Bluff, Arkansas while serving in the Arkansas Air National Guard 154th Squadron. He attended high school in Sheridan and college at University of Arkansas in Monticello. He was past commodore of the Greers Ferry Lake Yacht Club where he spent a great part of his life sailing and enjoying the camaraderie with fellow sailors. Donaldson sailed on every ocean surrounding the United States as well as many foreign destinations throughout his sailing career. His motto in life was, if the sun is out and the wind is up, I am sailing. Enjoy! He is survived by his son Robert A. Frederick Fendley Ward, 57, passed away August 21, 2016 in Mabelvale, Arkansas. He enjoyed skiing, foosball, computers, and composing music on the piano. Erick is survived by his soul mate Rhonda Ward; their children, Charles Devin Ward (Rachel) and Frederick Jerrod Ward (Miyuki); granddaughter Abigail Lynn Ward; his sisters, Karen Kraft (Richard) and Teresa Schnellmann (John); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary Lou Ward. His life will be remembered and celebrated at the Ward residence in Bryant AR on Friday September 2, 2016 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm.
