FRANCES WILSON, 92 of Benton, passed away on August 23, 2018. She was born on May 1, 1926 to the late John Hiatt Baker and Lura Merriman Baker. Frances graduated in 1946 from Auburn University in Alabama and Polytechnic University with a degree in Pharmacy. She was an avid reader, world traveler, Life Master Bridge Player, who loved playing Duplicate Bridge. JEWELL DEAN CHISM, age 89, of Benton, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018. She was born January 8, 1929 in Bryant, Arkansas. Jewell worked for OWASSO and was a furniture finisher for 51 years. JOANE JAMES, 79, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. She was born to Jesse and Viola Day on Monday, August 14, 1939. She loved to bake and decorate cakes. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was Baptist in faith. She was a Native American and was so proud of her heritage. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Charles Day. He was born to Clyde and Willa Mae Ivey on Sunday, October 28, 1928 in Marshall, Texas. He sang bass in the church quartet; southern gospel. He went to nursing homes and ministries to lend a helping hand. He was so caring and giving. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Marshall. ALBA FAY TAYLOR, 74, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born to James and Mildred Walters on Sunday, September 5, 1943 in Oak Grove, Louisiana. She loved to travel with her husband and spending time with her family. She enjoyed having people over to eat and playing dominos. She was very involved in church and loved reading the Bible. She attended Four Square Church and she retired from the Benton School District. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lena Martin; brother, Jack Walters; daughter-in-law, Adriel Taylor. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Van Taylor; son, Lamar Taylor; two grandchildren, Grant Taylor and Bryana Herron (Dillon); sister, Barbara Jones (J.M.); along with other family and friends who love and miss her dearly. JERRY DALE TALLY, 45, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was born to James Tally and Dorothy Johnson on July 25, 1973 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He loved his fur babies as if they were his children, Dreyfus, Hanson, and Precious. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved his grandbabies and great grandbabies with all his heart. He enjoyed playing games with his wife and family. He liked to mow the yard, especially with his beloved zero turn lawn mower. He has the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. He loved all of his friends, co-workers, and his job at Coleman Dairy where he worked for over 14 years. He was a huge Razorback fan! He adored them even during their bad seasons. He was preceded in death by his father, James Tally. WON CHA ROLLINS, 65, of Benton, Arkansas went to be with the Lord August 19, 2018. She was born in Cheongpung-Myon, South Korea on May 26, 1953 to the late Kwi Son and Sun Man (Chong) Chang. Won loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of Benton Four Square Church. She was an entrepreneur and opened several businesses at which she succeeded at including Kay’s Jewelers in the Hot Springs Mall. Won loved people. She always put others before herself. Her family and church family were dear to her heart. Won lived by the motto of God-Family-Others. BEN CHARLES MCCOOL, 73, of Benton, passed from this life on August 21, 2018 at Baptist Health in Little Rock after a recent diagnosis of lymphoma. He was born on March 23, 1945 in Bauxite, Arkansas to the late Ben and Edith McCool. Ben graduated from Benton High School. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Benton where he was a member of the Explorers Sunday School Class and volunteer with C-John ministries where he delivered food to those in need. He was a United States Army veteran. Ben worked in the insurance industry before working over thirty years as an electrician. In his spare time, he could be found helping friends and family with electrical projects. Ben was a 32-degree member of the Masonic Organization and was Past Master of Adoniram Masonic Lodge #288 in Mabelvale, Arkansas and was an active member of Benton Masonic Lodge #34 where he was a Past Master and current secretary of the lodge. In 2015, he was appointed by the Grand Master of the State of Arkansas to serve as a District Deputy Grand Master. Ben was also involved in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and was a past State Rainbow Dad. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Edith McCool; sister, Jessie Lee Tull; and great-grandson, Carson Pifer. He leaves behind his wife of fifty years, Denise McCool of Benton; daughter, Tracy Pifer and husband Rusty of Little Rock; granddaughter, Lauren Pifer of Benton; grandson, Trey Pifer and wife Robin of Warren, Arkansas; great-grandchildren, Russ Pifer, Connor Pifer, Julianna Pifer, and Raelynn Pifer; sister, Faye Buckelew of North Little Rock; brothers: Jim McCool of Little Rock, Robert McCool of Newington, Connecticut, and John McCool of Shepherd, Texas; and a host of family and friends who love Ben and will miss him always. DON WESLEY RHEA 5/30/1938 – 8/22/2018. Don was born in Benton, AR to the late Clarence and Adell Rhea. He died knowing his Lord Jesus Christ paid his debts in full. He fought with all the strength he had to stay every day possible to care for those who loved him. Don worked for 20 years as the Program Coordinator of Our House Homeless Shelter. After retiring, he worked several more years for Arkansas Rice Depot. Not even his family know all the acts of generosity and kindness he performed, but what they know is amazing. Don was proceeded in death by daughters Kellie Rhea and Allison Stroud, and one baby lost in pregnancy. Survivors are his wife Laura Rhea of North Little Rock, sons Robert Mark Rhea of Texas and Randy Rhea, (Sophia), and daughter in law Buggy Rhea, all of Benton. Also survived by grandchildren Alex (Jessica) Stroud of Beebe, Joshua Stroud of Conway, Sara (Miles) McPherson of North Little Rock, Caleb Stroud of Mayflower, Wesley Rhea and Jessica (Jesse) Baxley of Benton, and Kara and Leah Stegall from Hot Springs and Ashley Sisco of Texarkana. Three great grandchildren brought him smiles and love. SANDRA JEAN JONES, 66, of Bauxite, Arkansas peacefully passed from this life surrounded by her family on August 23, 2018. She was born September 24, 1951 in Campbellsville, Kentucky to the late Ewell Jackson and Doris Elizabeth (Davis) Hendrix. She was a licensed psychiatric nurse. Sandra loved spending time with her family-especially with her grandchildren.
