James “Jim” Robert Krueger, 69, of Benton, passed away on August 20, 2022. He was born on June 23, 1953 in Camden, Arkansas to Lt. Col. James Edward Krueger (Retired) and Joan Barnes Krueger who are now deceased.
Jim received his B.A. in Political Science with a minor in English from Henderson State University. While at Henderson he was in ROTC and received his commission in the Army upon graduation. Jim served in the United States Army and six years in the Arkansas Army National Guard, 39th Infantry Brigade, as a captain and unit commander at Hope. After resigning his commission, he worked as a route salesman for Red Ball Oxygen and Roberson Metals in Arkadelphia. Jim also worked as a landscaper at Ouachita Baptist University and after as landscaping supervisor at Henderson State University.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marlo May Bush Krueger of Benton; brother, William “Bill” Edward Krueger of Georgetown, Georgia; and Steven Krueger of Providence, Rhode Island.
Pallbearers will be Gary Rowland, Myron Crisco, David Boswell, Joe Grier, Layman Green, and Raymond Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobbie Parker, Larry Green, Alan Jester, and Rob Ledford.
Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 23rd, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Bethlehem Cemetery in Joan, Arkansas in Arkadelphia off Hwy 57 on Church Road.
Everyone is asked to wear a mask at both gatherings.

Gilbert Bryant Casey, 61 of Klamath Falls, Oregon, passed away on August 15, 2022 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He was born on December 19, 1960 in Hot Springs to the late Earl Earnest, Sr. and Dora LeMoine Casey.
Gilbert loved music and attending classic car shows; visiting with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl Casey, Jr. and sister, Sandra Mathis.
Gilbert is survived by his brothers, Leroy Casey of Bryant, Joe Casey of Bryant, sisters, Faye Raines of Bryant, Wilma South of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Dorse Rogers of Benton, Beatrice (Aaron) Craig of Bryant and Lora Ann (Glen Wear) Casey of Bryant, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Gravel Hill Cemetery.

Melba Jean Cousin Shepard, 81 of Benton, passed away on August 22, 2022. She was born on December 1, 1940 in Bauxite to the late Rosie and Gordon Cousin, who had two other children, William Charles Cousin and Larry Joe Cousin.
Melba was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Kristen Johnson.
She was retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department as Division Head of Human Resources. Following retirement, she was an active member of the Bauxite Historical Association and was inducted into the Bauxite Wall of Honor in 2010.
Melba was married for 62 years to Paul Edward Shepard of Benton, Arkansas. They had two children, Paul Edward, Jr. of North Carolina and Karla Shepard of Benton; nine grandchildren, Paul Shepard, III, Kayce Johnson, Kristen Johnson, Cody Shepard, Alisa Shepard, Tiffany Shepard, Chris Shepard, Mary Shepard, Tyler Shepard and a new great granddaughter, Iahla Noelle Vickery.
As was her wish, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
The legacy she wished to leave behind: “She made a difference in the life of a child.”

Edward Lee Davis, 64, of Benton, passed away on August 20, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Voyne Owen Davis and Grace Tarvin Davis Paul.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Howard Paul, sister, Jane Surratt and son-in-law, Jason Roberts.
Ed is survived by his wife of 40+ years, Tina (Finney) Davis of Benton, daughters, Amber Ward and Heather Roberts, sister, JoAnn Herren, grandchildren, Kinley Roberts and Davis Ward as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Ed was the best Husband, Father and PopPop. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing with friends. He was also an avid Razorback fan. He was a hardworking man and loved his family fiercely.
Cremation was through Ashby Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Betty Jean Berryhill, 84 of Traskwood, Arkansas, passed away on August 23, 2022. She was born in Hackett, Arkansas to the late William Vaughan and Willie Agnes Moore Needham.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, William Vaughan Needham and Willie Agnes Needham Justus; husband, Orville Berryhill, son, Larry Berryhill, brothers, Jerry, Gene and Bill Needham, sisters, Locilla (Sid), Mary Jane and Louise.
Betty liked to fish, play cards and yard sale, go to Bluegrass Festivals but her passion was keeping her house and yard in beautiful condition. She was push mowing well over 70 years of age. Betty’s favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved to decorate the house and yard, enjoying people in the community stopping to see her lights. Betty always enjoyed having her children and grandchildren over for holidays, always cooking her Turkey and Dressing (which can’t be duplicated!)
She is survived by her children, Karen Sue (Scott) Matthews, Troy Dean Berryhill and Richard Allen (Deana) Berryhill, grandchildren, Jennifer (Justin) Farrell, Brian (Stacy) Matthews, Brandy Matthews Sheridan, Brittany (Cody) Lee, Laura Berryhill and Billy (Patty) Berryhill; great grandchildren, Allison Ledford, Amber Ledford and Aiden Farrell; Carson Matthews and Hannah Matthews; Haley Sheridan and Hope Sheridan; Preslei Doggrell and Paislei Campbell, Audrey (Noah) Sherry, great great granddaughter, Violet Sherry; sister, Diane Gatlin; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
