“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away”. Revelation 21:4
Oliver Scott DuBois was born on June 25h, 2022 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was the first child of Jacob and Jamie DuBois. He resided at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas for the duration of his life and there, he also took his last breath on July 31 st , 2022. In his death, Oliver was surrounded by many loved ones, including his loving mother and father.
Oliver suffered from many health issues starting with the heart anomaly that he was born with, and shortly after his birth, more complications followed. Isaiah 65:20 says, “No more shall be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed”.
Jamie, his mother, spent every day of Oliver’s life by his side. She told me stories of how he always knew she was there because he knew her voice and he would look at her and smile at her. He also enjoyed hearing his Nana Oliver sing to him and comfort him. He had good days but he also had bad days, and on those bad days, he had his mother and nana there to help ease the discomfort and pain.
Oliver was born very small and fragile; however, he was a sweet and beautiful little soul. Oliver’s first and last love was Jesus Christ. He was loved by so very many people. This baby is true evidence that angels can exist on earth, even if it is only for a short time. His family truly believes that he is now walking in a beautiful paradise, holding Jesus’ hand and God has created a very special place for him to know nothing of pain and to live eternal life in love and absolute harmony.
Oliver was preceded In death by great grandparents Barbara Jean and Edwin James Oliver, and James Hubert Abbott. Oliver was survived by his loving parents, Jacob and Jamie DuBois. His grandparents, Jim and Tammy Oliver, Jeff (deceased) and Ginger DuBois, great grandparents Betty Abbott, Gerald and Gloria Kleinsasser. Aunt and uncle Drew and Taylor Hughey, cousin Hayden. Aunt and uncle Sarah DuBois and (Jason), cousin Tolkien. Uncle and aunt Brandon and Natalie DuBois, cousins Haley, Braydon, and Emma Grace, along with many more great aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at Ashby’s funeral home in Benton, Arkansas. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1-2pm, funeral service at 2pm on August 5 th , 2022. Burial will follow at Social Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Benton, Arkansas.
Special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, and medical assistants in the NICU at Arkansas Children’s Hospital who cared for Oliver fiercely and with huge compassion. We are so appreciative of your dedication and love that you showed for our baby Oliver.
“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of God”. Luke 18:15-16
This was for you Oliver, I love you Lil Olivz- Aunt Taylor

As her granddaughter, Sarah Folse Dochtermann, wrote, Mary was the “original ‘Mother of Dragons,’” raising seven rambunctious boys, often singlehandedly, while her husband worked offshore a week at a time for the Shell Oil Company.
Mary was a profoundly spiritual and creative person of broad intellectual curiosity and diverse talents and interests. After completing high school she was employed as an administrator in a doctor’s office. A marvelous cook, she later worked in food management at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic School as well as the Lumen Christi Retreat Center, Schriever, LA. A gifted seamstress, quilter, and potter, Mary completed ceramics and art courses at Nicholls State University, Thibodaux, and later taught pottery-making privately. She was a true Renaissance woman who, even in the last decade of her life, studied dulcimer, engaged in meditation and journaling, created mandalas and labyrinths, and researched her family’s genealogies. Her vivid colorings, whimsical sculptures, and gorgeous clayware and quilts are treasured by her family as expressions of her love, spirit, and artistry. An avid gardener, she also adored her Yorkshire Terriers and took special delight in cultivating Monarch butterflies.
