Vincent Riley McIver, age 82, of Hensley, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018. He was known as “Bud” by those who knew and loved him. Bud was a kind, gentle soul who never intentionally harmed anyone. He was born September 11, 1935 to Earley V. and Katie Yocum McIver in Guernsey, Arkansas. Bud was just one year old when his mother passed away, leaving him and his sisters, Betty age 8 and Mary age 6. They were blessed in 1938 when they gained a step-mother, Lillian Mae Formby McIver.Bud is survived by sisters, Mary L. Roberts of Hensley and Janice Brown of Foristell, Missouri; brothers, Donald McIver of Little Rock and Ronald McIver of New Boston, Texas; nine nieces & nephews; 11 great-nieces & nephews and 15 great-great-nieces & nephews with one more on the way.He went to live with his sister, Mary Roberts in 1983 to help with her ill husband. Bud helped with his care until his death in 1988. He was a great source of strength to his sister during those years and continued to live with her until he became ill and went into a nursing facility. Bud loved Guernsey School reunions. His last one was in June 2017, where he enjoyed good food and visiting with old friends. He also enjoyed sitting in the front yard and visiting with folks who stopped by to chat. Bud was a valued employee at Pathfinders for a number of years until his failing health forced him to quit. He had a Beanie Baby collection that was the envy of most of the great nieces & nephews and am immense ball cap collection that he was very proud of.Visitation will be 9:00 to 10 a.m. Friday, July 20 at Ashby Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Memorial Park. Pamela Leigh Harris, 59, of Alexander, Arkansas passed away July 13, 2018. She was born December 14, 1958 in Abilene, Texas to Arlan and Bobbye Geraldine (Allison) Harris. Pamela was a follower of Jesus. She adored her grandchildren and spending time with them. Pamela had a fierce heart and loved everyone she met. Her mother was very special to her as well as her dog, Niles. Pamela was crafty and willing to try to make anything-even if she could not master it. She loved children and felt a purpose in being a paraprofessional- helping special needs children in high school. Pamela absolutely loved Elvis and had a whole wall in her home decorated with his records, pictures and posters from his younger days. Her family will keep her favorite saying, “Oh My Lanta”, going for generations to come. Pamela was preceded in death by her step-father, Don Mashburn; step-sister, Pam Mashburn; and brother-in-law, Scotty Childers. Dale Benard Mauldin, Sr. 61 of Mabelvale went to be with his departed loved ones and friends on July 16, 2018. He was a loving and warm husband, father and friend, who was loved by all. Susan Metta Waits, 34, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at UAMS in Little Rock with her family by her side. She leaves her mother, Shirley; her father, Lyndal; her brother, Jason; and her grandmother, Florene (Mimi); her uncle Terry Waits; aunt Rona Waits; cousin Amanda Annear (Allister) and Ella; and Sarah Waits. Susan was preceded in death by her father’s parents, Mason and Irene Waits and her mother’s father, Jack Renfro. Born in Paragould, Arkansas on April 8, 1984, her family moved to Batesville, Arkansas when she was 7 months old. She graduated from Batesville High School and the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. With great determination, she moved to New York City and lived there 10 years until in 2016 she moved to Los Angeles, California. Her ability to write about fashion led her to become the fashion director at PureWow, a digital media company that publishes women’s lifestyle content. Susan had a passion to serve others in mission projects. In high school she was active in the United Methodist mission projects. In college she was involved in the Wesley Foundation where she worked in New Orleans doing clean up following Hurricane Katrina. While living in New York she travelled to the devastated Rockaway Island to serve survivors of Hurricane Sandy. The family wishes to thank the ICU and the Infusion Center staff at UAMS for their excellent and compassionate care during her admission. Dennis Dale Bauer, 67, of Bryant was united with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was a faithful member of First Lutheran Benton, graduate of the University of Arkansas, and avid Razorback fan.
