A life-long resident of Benton, Arkansas, Lynda Holiman Jones went to her heavenly home on July 7, 2022, at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, H. B. “Buck” Jones, Jr., her parents, J. Boda and Blanche Forsythe Holiman of Benton, along with eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter Kris T. Jones and son-in-love John L. Crain of Hammond, Louisiana, along with many friends and family members.
Lynda was a talented pianist and artist who loved making music and decorating and creating with her signature colors of blue, green and purple. She cherished her family and took great pride in staying in touch with them despite being separated from some by long distances. She was a kind and generous person who was always thinking of others, devoting much of her time and energy to making creative gifts for friends and family.
Lynda and Buck were long-time members of Fellowship Bible Church and were especially active helping with the children’s ministries. They drew strength and peace from the strong faith they practiced daily throughout their lives.
Arrangements are being handled by Ashby Funeral Home, and a private burial will take place at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Arkansas Hospice Foundation.
Kay Allen Wright, age 85, of Benton passed away on July 8, 2022. He was born on February 27, 1937 to Marlin “Jack” and Bertha Wright.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carla LuJean, daughters, Keatha Kay, Ronnie Gay, great-granddaughter, Maleigha Ellison, three brothers and three sisters. Kay was an accomplished upholsterer from the age of 18 and enjoyed playing the fiddle, listening to Hank Williams Sr. and visiting with friends and family.
He is survived by son, Russell (Pat) Wright, daughters, Ronda (Troy) Hughes, Torie (Allen) Johnson, brother, Alfred Wright, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Ashby’s.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hicks Cemetery.

Howard Lee Nelson 70, of Benton passed away peacefully July 8, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness. Howard was born April 19, 1952, in Tampa, FL to Clarence & Sarah Nelson. Growing up in a military family, Howard traveled the world in his childhood meeting many friends along the way. Always a people person, his jobsafter high school centered around customer service. In 1979 he began working in the lumber industry and continued in this career until he retired from Quality Wholesale Lumber in 2017. Howard enjoyed golfing, watching sports, pranking others, being with friends and family, and visiting his other home in Punta Gorda, FL.
Howard is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Vicki Nelson, daughters Christy Renfroe (Mark, a very special son in law) of Lena, MS, and Jennifer Nelsonof Benton, AR, grandsons Jack and Evan Renfroe of Lena, MS, his mother, who is 101 years young, Sarah Nelson of Ozark, AL, brothers Bob Nelson (Becky) of Buckeye, AZ and Gene Nelson (Janis) of Ozark, AL, sister in law Laura Keener of Punta Gorda, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father Clarence Nelson and his loving grandparents who he missed dearly.
The family would like to thank the many friends who have reached out to help during Howard’s illness as well as Dr. Sneed and the staff at CARTI for their care. Memorial service held at 10:30 AM, July 13,2022 at Congo Rd. UMC (2903 Steel Bridge Rd. Benton, AR 72019).
