MICHAEL THOMAS GARSTECKI of Hot Springs Village, passed away June 10, 2018. He was born December 21, 1942 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard and Florence Garstecki. Michael is survived by his wife of 51 ½ years, Darlene; Children: Jennifer Lucas, Jeffrey Garstecki and Julia Derkovitz (Christopher), Grandchildren; Jessica Lucas, Trey Lucas, Andrew Derkovitz and Stephanie Derkovitz. Brother; David Garstecki. Michael was preceded in death by his parents. Michael was a member of the Men’s Cooking Club, past member of Wood Workers, Active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and an Active Member of the Knights of Columbus. Michael worked for Chrysler for 35 years and his last position was as comptroller of Chrysler parts and service. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, traveling, golfing, reading and gardening. A Rosary will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Mass following at 11:00 with Father Bill Elsner officiating. JUDY ANN WILLIAMS, 67, of Benton, passed away on June 11, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born on June 14, 1950 to the late Dean and Rachel Parish in Spokane, Wash. CHARLES L. NELSON, 70, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on June 15, 2018 following a brief terminal illness. He was born on March 29, 1948 and grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After graduating from Henderson College in Arkadelphia, Arkansas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Charles practiced retail management for 50-years. After retiring he enjoyed managing real-estate properties. Charles is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 48-years, his son, Steve, his younger, brother Tim Nelson of Marion, Arkansas, and his two younger sisters; Debbie Redditt of McAlester, Oklahoma, and Karen Garrett of Hot Springs, Arkansas; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. A jokester and an avid sports fan, Charles loved watching and discussing the Razorback’s football and all manner of sports. He loved fine-dining, grocery shopping and barbequing ribs. He will be remembered for the diligent and energetic care he always took of his family. SHARON PURDY ROBERTS, age 74, of Benton, Arkansas died peacefully surrounded by her family June 19, 2018. She was born July 6, 1943 in DeWitt, Arkansas to the late Ben L and Lucille Purdy. She graduated from DeWitt High School in 1961. She is preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Robert F. “Bob” Roberts and her siblings: Denzil Purdy, Harold “Bud” Purdy and his wife Rita, and Sandra Gaisbauer and her husband Gene. Sharon was a faithful member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. She retired as the Deputy Collector of the Pulaski County Tax Collector’s office where she worked for more than 30 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She was always up for an adventure: fishing and teaching the grandkids to bait their own hooks, four-wheeler riding, a motorcycle ride with her sister, traveling to see her brother, sister, nieces and nephews, lake house get-aways with Bob and the grandkids, or a road trip with Mrs. Judie McClennahan. Sharon was always taking care of or cooking for someone. When her grandchildren were younger, they liked to say she was a “good cooker girl”-especially Thanksgiving dinner which was her favorite holiday. She enjoyed family cookouts and loved to have her home full of family and friends. Every holiday and birthday was a reason to celebrate. Everyone that knew her loved her, she had a sweet and kind spirit and made friends wherever she went. RONNY THOMAS BROADAWAY, 80, of Bryant, went to his reward in Heaven June 13, 2018. He was born May 19, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ruth and Marvin Broadaway. Ron went to work for Western Union Telegraph after graduating from Newport High School in 1956, and in 1976 started his own business. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. Ron loved aviation and spent many happy hours with friends in his beloved Cessna 172. He was preceded in death by his parents. RALPH E. “REAGEN” DAVIS, 78, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, June 18, 2018. He was born on March 24, 1940 in Alexander, Arkansas to the late Ralph W. Davis and Mildred Sweeney Davis. He was a graduate of Mabelvale High School. Reagen served in the Air Force and was stationed in Turkey during the Bay of Pigs Conflict. He was a member of Geyer Springs First Baptist Church and was very active in the preschool ministry for the past 25 years of his 50-year membership. “Pepa” as his grandchildren called him was very involved in his family’s life. He was a loving husband, of almost 55 years, Father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
