Joe E. Hall went home to Jesus on Memorial Day, May 30th, 2022 at age 85.
Joe was born to Clifford and Marie Hall on June 30th, 1936 in Ringgold, Louisiana. He grew up on a farm and enjoyed learning carpentry from his father. In 1959, he received a Bachelors of Science in Geology from Centenary College of Louisiana. He later received a Master of Science in Education from the University of Southern California.
He met the love of his life and wife, Helen, in 1960. He knew she was the one for him when she spilled her Dr. Pepper all over his college paper. They married on January 19, 1961 and enjoyed over 60 years of wedded bliss. They had 2 children, Robert Clifford and Kellie Ann. Joe was a patriotic American who loved his country. He served as a B-52 navigator and electronics warfare officer in the Air Force for over 20 years and was fondly known to many as “Old Crow” or his call sign “Preacher.” His children followed in his footsteps and both served full careers in the United States Air Force. After retiring from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, he became a principal of Shreve Christian Academy.
Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, gardening, hunting, fishing and writing poetry. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. His faith sustained him through many obstacles. During their time in Shreveport, Joe and Helen attended both the Airline Drive and University Church of Christ, which had a profound impact on their faith and community with Christ.
Joe is preceded by his parents, Clifford and Marie Hall, sister Billie Thoeming, and daughter in law, Kelly Hall. He is survived by His wife Helen, their children, Robert Clifford Hall and Kellie Ann Johnson, his two daughters Joani Rowland and Suzie Lester, son in-law Nathan Johnson and sister, Geri Hall. He was blessed to have 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Tina, Tiffianie, Katy, Joey and Joshua. His favorite bible passage was Romans Chapter 6.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made M.D. Anderson Cancer Research or M.D. Anderson Children’s Art Project. A memorial will be held the 25th of June at 10:00 am at University Church of Christ in Shreveport, LA.
Barbara Susan Woodruff, 69 of Bryant, passed away on May 25, 2022. She was born to the late James Lawrence and Lois Marie White Gunn on September 14, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Ray Woodruff of Bryant, son, Jason (Ginger) Matthew Prince of Greenville, Texas, one brother ; sister, Linda Collins-Brown of Dallas, Texas and half- sister, Kathy Hash of Oklahoma.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 4th at Ashby Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Lambright officiating.
Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday before services.

Cherye Francine Riggs, 77 of Little Rock, passed away on May 30, 2022. She was born on September 18, 1944 to the late Allen Joseph and Hilda Juanita Rogers Thevenet.
Cherye is survived by her husband, Charles Riggs of Little Rock and sister, Terri Thevenet of Little Rock

Arbelle Hardin, 76, of Bauxite, passed away on May 29, 2022. She was born on November 10, 1945 in Bauxite. She was preceded in death by Herman and Mary Ball; her husband, Jimmy Hardin; two sisters, Odelle Wait and Nancy Crutchfield.
Arbelle was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and retired from AT&T. She loved bowling, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons; Russell Hardin, Brian Hardin; four grandchildren, Lauren Hardin, Taylor Hardin, Brianna Hardin, Chase Hardin; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Ruiz, Madison Ruiz; three sisters, Patricia Anderson, Janet Paulette, Mary Mashburn, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home with Scottie Johnson officiating. A visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., prior to the service. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery.
