Sue grew up on a farm in Brummett, AR where there were many adventures and learning experiences with her Daddy, Mama, and brothers. She was family oriented then which carried over to the rest of her life. Sue worked at Birch Tree Communities for 20 plus years helping those that needed special care and love. She developed life long friendships with several coworkers.
Sue was a very outgoing lady who got deeply involved in any activities in which she was interested. Following her children and grandchildren in their sporting and school activities was a passion. Sue was “Nana” to everyone. Her house was homebase for two generations of kids as they grew up with her family. Food was one of her callings – whether fixing it or eating it. Sue’s “chicken with a handle” (legs) and chocolate pie were famous in her cooking realm. Nothing cooked as good as an iron skillet and you can keep your gadgets, just give her a knife. She enjoyed maintaining her ties with friends from her school days. More recently getting out and socializing with her Downhill Divas group (Praying Grannies) was a highlight of each month. She loved traveling anywhere. Sue developed a love of woodworking and painting in the last few years. Of course, all her craft projects were shared with friends and family.
Sue loved deeply and was loved in return. She was so very proud of all of her children and grandchildren. Just be around her a minute and you would get the scoop on each one and how truly amazing they are along with an assortment of pictures to support the facts.
Sue is and will be missed in every aspect of a great many lives.
Visitation will be at 10 am on Monday, May 2 at Ashby’s Funeral Home in Benton, AR followed by the Memorial Service at 11 a.m.
