Mary Eunice Massey, 91, of Benton, Ark., died on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Eunice was born November 27, 1926, to the late J.O. and Mary Catherine Derryberry in Hardeman County, Tenn. Eunice was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt to her family. She was the one you could pick up the telephone with at anytime and ask anything to. She was always the “Community” grandmother, of whatever neighborhood she lived in. She always loved collecting angels. William Dunaway Muse, 88, of Bryant, passed away April 17, 2018. He was born June 13, 1929 in Conway, to Thomas Frank and Odie Belle Firestone Muse. William was a member of Otter Creek Assembly of God. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Travis Odell Hall, age 76, of Benton passed away Tuesday April 17, 2018. He was born September 29, 1941 in Havana, Arkansas. Travis was retired from Goldstar Dairy, member of the MEC Hunting Club in Whelen Springs, Arkansas, and a member of the East Smith Street Church of Christ in Benton. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis Odell Hall, wife, Billie Sue Hall, and a grandson, Kyle Shane Hall. Travis always liked to be outside every chance he could get. He would spend time in his shop working on his Model A and T Model cars. If he wasn’t doing that then he was busy hunting and fishing when he could. He loved spending time with family and friends. The highlight of his week that he looked forward to the most was when his grandsons Ryan and Lance would come home from college on the weekends to spend time with him. Richard (Dick) N. Paulsen, born April 7, 1939, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2018 with family at his side. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country stateside during the Vietnam War. Preceded in death by first wife Lynda (Schelker) Paulsen, infant son Chad, parents Norm and Marge, and brother Jim. Left behind to love his memory and each other are Sandy Paulsen, son Brad and wife Pamela Paulsen and granddaughters, Karissa and Juliana of Wheaton, Ill., son, Sean Pieper of Chicago, Ill., brother, Don and wife Margie of Cincinnati, Ohio, sister-in-law, Jan Paulsen of Billings, Mont., and many nieces and nephews. Dick was active in the Hot Springs Village Anglers Club serving on the Board and acting as a mentor to members. Among numerous recognition, Dick was most proud of winning The Pete Hinson Sportsman Award in 2012. While not fishing, he loved to travel having visited all 50 states and internationally via numerous cruises. Dick, grew up in Racine, Wis., eventually becoming a stockholder of the Green Bay Packers. After starring as a multi-sport athlete at Horlick High School in Racine, Dick continued in basketball at Iowa State University. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin he spent a long-career at Container Corporation of America before retiring early. The move to Hot Springs Village, AR enabled Dick to pursue his passion highlighted by Ms. Bubba (pic) the signature accomplishment of a life’s dedication to the art and skill of fishing. Louis Bartolotti, age 91, of Alexander, passed away peacefully in Saline Memorial Hospice House on Friday, April 20, 2018. He was born March 27, 1927 in Niagara Falls, New York. Louis served his country in the United States Navy and retired as a painter from the Little Rock School District. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Bartolotti, mother, Joann DiCicco, and wife, Hazel Bartolotti. Louis, an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, brought his love of the outdoors from California to Arkansas with his family in 1971. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time searching for rare and interesting antiques and curios. Above all else, Louis was a family man who worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones. Verna Mae Gaither was granted her angel wings and welcomed home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 in Bryant, Ark. She was 108 years old. Verna Gaither was born to John Preston and Katie Kimberling Sword on September 21st, 1909 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. In the 1920s, Verna and her family traveled from Guthrie, Okla., to Buckville, Ark., in a covered wagon. A few years later, her father, sick with dropsy and following doctor’s orders, moved his family to McFadden Springs, Ark., to drink and help bottle the mountain spring water. Verna was known for her Godly faith, gardening, card games, paper dolls, dominos, and crossword puzzles. She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Edward Leo Gaither, her parents, two brothers, John Morgan and Sherman, three sisters, Edna Lou, Ruby, and Pearl, two daughters- Gwendolyn Buchanan, Sondra Tyler and a grandson, Randy Buchanan. Albert Merle Crawford, 78, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Easter, April 1, 2018. He was born on August 12, 1939 in Enterprise, Louisiana to Sullivan and Beatrice Crawford. Al, affectionately nicknamed “Arkie”, graduated in 1957 from Enterprise High School. He then received his Bachelor’s Degree at Northeast Louisiana University in Accounting. He also attended Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University followed by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, becoming a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist. Al began his career as a tankerman on the motor vessel the Gene C. Hutchinson on the Mississippi River. He loved the river boats, it was in his blood, and it remained a passionate hobby until the day he passed away. He went on to become Comptroller of the Monroe Utilities Commission followed by becoming the Manager of Employee Benefits at the Central Bank Trust Department in Monroe, Louisiana. In 1989, Al moved to Little Rock and became the Senior Vice President and Manager of Employee Benefit Division of First Commercial Trust Company. Upon retiring, Al and Sue moved to Hot Springs Village, becoming an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, where he served on the Vestry, was a Eucharistic Minister, as well as serving on many committees. For 30 years in Louisiana, Al officiated high school baseball, basketball, football and some college basketball. Al enjoyed playing golf in the Village, as well as playing the upright base (bull fiddle) for the Ouachita River Ramblers, making several CD’s, playing venues in the Village and around South Arkansas. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Sullivan and Beatrice, siblings, S.P. Jr., Walton (Buddy), Elton (Shorty), Eulon, Doris (Dicey) and son, Richie Crawford. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sue Crane Crawford; son, Reynolds Crawford and wife, Carmen; daughter, Mignon Crawford of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Madeline and Morgan Hicks and Nicholas Knoll; great grandson, Kesson Roy Martin; nieces, nephews and many friends. David Owen Prince, born August 11, 1935, passed away April 26, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. David worked at the Arkansas Gazette from 1970 to 1991 as a typesetter. He was an avid member of the Little Rock Association of the Deaf. David graduated from the Arkansas School for the Deaf in 1956. His passion was spending time with his family and grandchildren. David also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and his Arkansas Razorbacks. Dennis Gregory Berry, 70, passed away on May 2, 2018 in Benton, Ark. Dennis was born in Petersburg, Va. on October 5, 1947 to the late Branch & Margaret Berry. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kim, his son, Hunter (Gabie), daughters, Kari Lazenby (Blake), Katelyn Cameron (Joe), C.J. Cooley (Pat); rambunctious grandchildren, Nyah Cooley, Laila & Gunner McCowen, Brynn & Reese Cameron, Whitten Lazenby, brother, Robert Berry (Donna), mother-in-law, Crystal Swindell, brother-in-law, Russell Swindell (Debra); and several nieces and nephews. Dennis graduated from Little Rock University (UALR) in 1970. He taught high school history in the Pulaski County School District, retired from J.C. Penney and later retired from Flake Kelley Commercial. Dennis was a baseball historian, AVID Boston Red Sox fan, talented marksman and firearm enthusiast. He was uber-intelligent, funny, opinionated, conservative and fiercely dedicated to Kim and his family. Dennis is loved and already missed. When her children were young, Linda spent her summers traveling with her husband truck driving, of which she enjoyed. Edgar Waye (E.W.) Poe, Jr. 82 of Hot Springs Village, AR, formerly of Corning, AR, was called home to his Heavenly Father on May 6, 2018. He was born to Edgar Waye Poe, Sr. and Lucille (Jones) Poe. He graduated from high school in Walnut Ridge, AR and attended Arkansas State University for two years. He served his country as a member of the Arkansas National Guard. E.W. and his wife, Millie, made their home together in Corning, AR from 1963 to 1999 when he retired from State Farm Insurance after faithfully serving Clay County with successful agencies in Corning and Piggott. E.W. served as a First Baptist Church of Corning Sunday School teacher and deacon. When he wasn’t working, E.W. enjoyed the outdoors through bass fishing, quail hunting, and working in his yard. In retirement, E.W. served as a deacon at Balboa Baptist Church of Hot Springs Village and as a mentor in the Garland County Jail Ministry. Jack “Deacon” Adorm Meadows …With heavy hearts, we announce that early on May 3, 2018, Jack Adorm “Deacon” Meadows, went to be with his departed loved ones. She is survived by daughter, Sydni Strachan of Benton; daughter, Taylor Strachan of Benton; son, Grayson Strachan of Benton; daughter, Logan Strachan of Benton; fiancé, Marlon Randolph of North Little Rock; sister, Rose Mabry of Hensley, Arkansas; mother, Darlene Lawnizcak; nephew, Sean Triplett of Waco, Texas; nephew, Mitch Triplett of Hensley; nephew, Austin Jones of Hensley; nephew, Christian Mabry of Hensley; niece, Serenity Mabry of Hensley; Darlene and Eddie Harris; one grandson, Emory James Denham; and a host of family and friends who love Becca and will miss her always. Teresa Elaine Gentuso was born on October 2, 1953 and passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018. Teresa was a resident of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at the time of passing. Teresa will be presented for those who wish to pay their respects on Tuesday May 8th, 2018, from 4: 00 – 8: 00 p.m. at Caruth Village Funeral Home, 4623 North Highway 7, Hot Springs Village, AR, before returning to Kansas for viewing in Marysville at Kinsley Mortuary on May 11th, 2018 from 5: 00 to 7: 00 p.m. with a church service at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church on May 12th, at 10: 00 a.m. She will then return to Arkansas for a private burial in the family crypt at Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
