James Bruce Grimsby, 69, Hot Springs died March 6, 2022. He was born July 4, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan . James was of the Later Day Saints faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Edith Thompson Grimsby.

John Autrey Porterfield, 61, of Benton, Arkansas passed away March 4, 2022. John was born August 4, 1960 to the late Autrey Julius Porterfield and Iris Lillian (Bush) Porterfield.
John worked in construction for most of his life and went to school for mechanics. He was extremely smart and a very hard worker. John loved being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He always played music and enjoyed reading. John was selfless and always put everyone before himself. He loved to challenge his daughters with video games and looked forward to the birth of his new twin grandbabies on March 29. John was a great cook and always catered to anything his family wanted to eat.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Autrey Julius Porterfield and Iris Lillian (Bush) Porterfield.
John is survived by his wife, Monica Porterfield; daughters: Lindsey (Aaron) Knight and Lauren Porterfield; brothers: Donald Embry (Joanne) of Fulton, AR, Bobby Embry (Debra) of Texarkana, TX, and Larry Embry (Becky) of Hurst, TX; sister, Brenda Embry Morton of Jonesboro, AR; cousin, John Thomas Connell of Hope, AR; as well as a host of other family members and friends that will always love him and miss him.

Dovey Marie Adcock, 74, of Bauxite, Arkansas went to be with her Lord March 8, 2022. She was born January 18, 1948 in Dermott, Arkansas to John and Juanita (Brown) Williams.
Dovey was a faithful member of Otter Creek Assembly of God for forty years. She and her husband, Charles, were always at the church when the doors were open. Dovey could often be found reading and studying the Bible. She quoted scriptures from memory and posted note cards with favorite scriptures written on them all around her home. Dovey adored her family, and her grandchildren were so special to her. She loved celebrating holidays and looked forward to hosting gatherings for all her family at her home. Dovey made beautiful ceramic pieces and enjoyed antiquing. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Preceding Dovey in death are her husband of 59 years, Charles E. Adcock; daughter, Tonya Adcock; and father, John Williams.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons: Chuck Adcock and wife Gaila of Bauxite, Arkansas and Randy Adcock and wife Sherry of Magnet Cove, Arkansas; grandchildren: Colby Adcock and wife Erin, Hunter Adcock and wife Jessica, Alex Adcock, and Rebecca Adcock; great-grandchildren: Abigail, Westlynn, Graham, and Miley; mother, Juanita Williams of Monticello, Arkansas; four sisters: Martha Holstead and husband Geary of Monticello, Mary Cooper and husband Gary of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Joan Bowden of Monticello, and Karla Mitchell and husband Rusty of Monticello; and many family members and friends.

Beverly Ann Mulkey, 70, of Alexander went to her heavenly home on March 5, 2022.
Beverly’s greatest legacy is her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Mulkey, her parents, Marlin and Margaret Daker, her sister Carrol Richardson, and her brother Scott Daker. She is survived by: her three sons, Sam Chaloner (Lori), Kenny Chaloner, and Scott Chaloner (Kim); grandchildren Jonathon Chaloner, Ashley Teasley (Chase), Stormi Chaloner, Alisha Chaloner, Journey Perry (Andrew), Shawna Hampton, Skylar Peacock (Matt), Justin Chaloner, Logan Chaloner, Chris Wyles, and Legacy Chaloner; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pam Eneff (Rick) and Vicki Diamond, and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Beverly was very civic-minded. She was an active volunteer with the Woodland Hills Fire Department from 1988-1998. Her passion was serving the veterans as a prominent member of the state’s American Legion Auxiliary. She, with her husband Dale, helped to start the Alexander American Legion post and Auxiliary unit. Beverly served the American Legion Auxiliary as National Southwest Division Vice President, Department President of Arkansas, District 15 President, President of multiple units, and in various programs such as Girls State, scholarships and poppy programs. She also served the 8 & 40 as Departmental Chapeau and Departmental Pouvoir member.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
A Funeral Service will be Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road, Benton. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 12:00 p.m.

Kenney Barber, age 63, of Bryant, passed from this life on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born August 25, 1958 in Little Rock, to Henry Barber and Annie Marie Johnson.
He was a very well-loved man by his family and many others. Kenney was nothing short of caring, loving, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He spent many years as a handyman and mechanic, always dependable and hard-working. He will be missed but his memory will be cherished and his legacy will continue through those who loved and cared for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Garland and Flossie Johnson.
Kenney is survived by one daughter, Lasonyia Higgs (Tyon McKenzie); one granddaughter, Talaysia Stokes; sisters, Phyllis Johnson and Janice Johnson; his aunt, Betty Hannon; cousin, Anita Johnson; nieces and nephews, Andrea Marshall, Amber Johnson, Kadesia Johnson, Quinn Marshall Jr., Quentin Johnson, and many other extended family members and friends.

Joyce Marie Hawk Swedenburg, 89, was born at home to the proud parents of Robert and Helen Hawk in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, July 12, 1932. She went home to her Savior on March 6, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri, where she was voted most intelligent female student of her graduating class. She then graduated cum laude from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. There she met her husband, James Swedenburg and they were married October 31, 1954.
Joyce spent her childhood living between Tulsa, Oklahoma and Rich Hill, Missouri. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at age 9 and as a young girl, while attending summer camp at Falls Creek Encampment in Oklahoma she surrendered her life for service to God. The famous Dr. R G Lee was the camp pastor that week. She had no idea that the commitment would eventually take her around the world to South Korea and Taiwan as a missionary.
She was a wonderful pastor’s wife and missionary, serving wherever she was needed in churches in Alabama, Texas, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, Arkansas. She had an extraordinary gift of hospitality and used her accounting skills many times throughout her ministry. Her cheerful personality and beautiful smile made everyone she came into contact with feel loved and accepted. Most recently, at Barcelona Road Baptist Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the choir and served as choir secretary, and church clerk. She also served on the Deacon Selection and Pastor Search Committees, Church Council, Central Baptist Association Executive Board, and Faith Visitation team. She faithfully volunteered for the prayer room ministry, VBS, and the Jackson House ministry, as long as she could. She also served as financial coordinator of HSV Christian Women’s Club and personally discipled many women through the years. Everything she did seemed to be with the intent of sharing with others the love of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and infant great-grandson, Lachlan Lyle Swedenburg. She is survived by her son, Michael, daughter-in-law, Terri Swedenburg; son, Steve Swedenburg; daughter, Denise Overton, and her son-in-law, Michael Overton. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Taylor Swedenburg, Trevor Swedenburg, Mya Swedenburg, Madison Rushing, her husband Wesley Rushing, and Rachel Overton. She is also survived by her brother, Bob Hawk, sister-in-law Martha Hawk, sister-in-law Martha King, and sister-in-law Mary Swedenburg, as well as nieces Pamela Bates, Lanna Scheer, Beth King, Cindy King, Kedra Kroeger, Jenna Kuntz and nephew Justin Hawk.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 11th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12th at 9:30 a.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant, Arkansas.

Amanda Jo Berstler, 54, of Bryant passed away in her home Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born in Memphis, TN to the late Hal Waddell and Jo Mason. She worked as a Registered Nurse and helped many people in her career.
Amanda is survived by her husband of 26 years, Brian Berstler; son, Chris Triplett of Bryant; and sister, Kathy Kincade.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas Kincade, Boyd Kincade, Richard Aureli, Paul Mason, Scott Berstler, and Jason Crabtree.

Susan Kaye Martin, 66, of Mayflower, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022. She was born to the late, Marion (Red) and Julia Smith McFarland, on Friday, August 19, 1955, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing, but most of all, spending time with her family and friends— especially her grandkids!
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Dr. M. F. McFarland, David B. McFarland, and Stephen J. McFarland; sister, Theresa “Terry” Vardaman.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Randy Martin; two children, Ashley Martin and Michael Martin; grandson, Maddox; four step grandchildren, Lilly, Addielynn, Todd, and Kendalyn; sister, Cindy Delauter, three brothers, Jerry, Timothy, and John McFarland; along with a host of other family and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly.

Beverly Edna Murphy, 76, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was born to the late, Herbert and Alice Kassens, on Saturday, March 2, 1946, in Grafton, Wisconsin. She loved playing bingo, tending plants and flowers, dancing with her friends at the Senior Center, and visiting with her grand-dogs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Alice Kassens; husband, Hubert Murphy; three brothers, Hugo, Herbert Jr, and James Kassens; two sisters, Erna Stoecker and Shirley Dickman.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia and her husband, David Moriarty, Julie and her husband, John Garland; her son, Scott Gierach and his wife, Ruby; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; along with numerous other family and friends who all love her and will miss her dearly.
