Francies Joann Johnson, age 85, of Benton, passed away February 14, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born March 27, 1937 to Joe and Ida (Cox) Thornberry. Francies retired from Benton Public Schools after working 15 years at Caldwell Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry W. Johnson; son, Donnie Johnson; daughter, Brenda (Johnson) Blackburn; three grandsons, Robbie Blackburn, Matthew Johnson, and Donnie Hill; four brothers, JT, Cleo, Clyde Neal and Jessie Thornberry; and two sisters, Rachel Weems and Vera Thompson.
Leaving to cherish her memory, a daughter, Barbara Hill; son, Jerry Lynn Johnson (Audena); seven grandchildren, Steven Hill, Kevin Hill, Deana Lynn Johnson, Megan Davis (Josh), Tonya Morris (Billy), Donnie Johnson, and Bradley Blackburn; five great-grandchildren, Wesley Hill, Monica Beard, Critter Hill, Brennan Beckham, and Brooks Davis; sister, Barbara Neal Pierce (Robert); brother, Bobby Joe Thornberry (Debra).
Pallbearers will be Steven Hill, Kevin Hill, Critter Hill, Wesley Hill, Donnie Johnson, and Josh Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Brad Blackburn.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 20 at Ashby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21 at Ashby Funeral Home with burial at Rosemont Cemetery. Jason Keisler will be officiating.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, Shelly Walker, and the Heartland Nursing Home for all the love and care they showed the family during this time.
Zachary Blake Keaton, 31 of Haskell, passed away on February 13, 2023. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Brittney Denise Keaton and daughter, Riley Kate Keaton, father and mother, Bryan and Diana Keaton, sister, Bailey Marie Keaton, mother in law, Kellie Duncan, grandparents, Johnny and Nellie Keaton; Stan and Becky Cullipher and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and a slew of friends who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Shirley Whatley, father in law, Christopher Duncan and brother in law, Connor Duncan; great grandparents, Felton and Ruth Snow.
Zack was known for his never met a stranger attitude, huge smile and great bear hugs. He enjoyed hunting at Hogan Deer Camp, but mostly he loved Riley from the minute she entered his heart. Zach was a member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Benton High School in 2010 and UALR in 2016. Zach recently went to work for US Vanadium which he was passionate about. He was born with a servant’s heart.
Pallbearers will be Jake Woodall, Clay Price, Keaton Williams, Colton Seago, Nick Smith, Mat Jett, Jesse Hyde and Lucas Hyde.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Hogan Deer Camp members.
Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20th with Bro. John Venable officiating. Burial will follow at New Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.
Visitation will 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Ashbys.
Glynis Lynn Staggs, 59, of Benton, Arkansas, died Monday, February 13, 2023, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born September 14, 1963 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was a home maker.
Glynis is survived by her husband of 9 years, Mike Staggs of Benton; her daughters, Sissy Moore and husband Zac of Benton; Maeghan Moheb and husband Ryan of Hensley; and Kierra Daniel and husband Reg of Little Rock; her son, Raymond Dye of Austin, Arkansas; her parents, Dennis and Georgia Simmons of Bryant; grandchildren, Lucas, Brennan and Gavin Oliver; Noah, Jacob and Jonah Moore; her sisters, Debi Taylor of Benton and Lisa Myers of Mayflower; and a number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Pam Wood.
