Glenda Christine Pigue, age 78, of Benton, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born March 19, 1939 in O’Kean, Arkansas. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Dora Walker and two brothers, Deloss and Denver Walker. Glenda was a devout Christian and fervent prayer warrior. She loved her family fiercely and constantly covered them in prayer. The very last morning of her life was spent praying and journaling in her very own “War Room” as she called it. She was active in her community and had a passion for health and fitness. Glenda loved her Magic Mirror and Fitness Unlimited members & staff just like family. She impacted so many lives in such a positive way and we know her legacy will live on in each of us. Betty J. Quattrociocche, 93 of Benton, passed away on February 9, 2018. She was born on November 20, 1924 in Mingo Junction, Ohio to the late Gorley and Opal Brafford Roe. Betty was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert C. Quattrociocche and daughter, Roberta Harley, brother, Don Roe and sister, Shirley Doyle, grandson, Aaron Scharf. Troy Baxley, 64, of Benton, Arkansas; entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Sunday morning, February 11, 2018. He was born to the late James E. and Doris Sweeten Baxley on January 30, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Troy is also proceeded in death by his in-laws, Walter and Marie Wimmer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Patti Wimmer Baxley; one son Eric, and his wife Athena Webb Baxley; sister Gail Baxley, his adopted “red headed” sister, Brenda Womack; and his life-long “closer than a brother” friend, Kim Kimbrough. He has two uncles, Gerald Baxley of Benton, AR and Nathan Sweeten of Galveston, TX; one aunt, Marilyn Sweeten of Houston, TX; sister-in-law Brenda Wimmer, and two spoiled canine children Scrappy and Cocoa, along with many cousins and extended family members and friends. Troy retired from the state of Arkansas where he worked in Corrections for over 20 years. He made the decision to retire so he would be available to care for his Dad, which he did, faithfully. Troy loved the out-of-doors, guns, knives, history, weather and prophecy. Troy also loved to receive scam or telemarketer calls just so he could harass them about calling. Aaron Allen Stallman, 39, of Benton, AR, was made perfect by God on Friday, February 9th after a long and hard-fought battle with colon cancer. Born September 10, 1978, Aaron was humble and kind to all who knew him and he was unwavering in his faith and direction in life. Growing up in Bryant, he learned to build and fix literally anything and made many lifelong friends at an early age. He earned an Eagle Scout in 1993. He was a 1996 graduate of Bryant High School, where he excelled in academics and sports. To no one’s surprise, he went on to major in engineering at the University of Arkansas and graduated in 2000 with a BS degree in civil engineering and later earned his PE accreditation. He worked at Garver, where he was an owner and led the Arkansas water team for the company. While professionally successful, his priorities were always in line. He served as an Elder at Zion Lutheran Church in Avilla. As a son, he honored his parents and walked the admirable path. As a husband, he was loyal and faithful. As a father, he was loving and intentional. As a friend, he was genuine and real. And as a professional engineer, he was a man of his word who earned the respect of his colleagues and clients. He also loved the outdoors, where he spent as much time as Jayme would let him in a duck blind, deer stand or golf course. He loved calling the Hogs and he loved spending time helping coach his son’s youth baseball team. Aaron is survived by his wife of 17 years, Jayme; daughter Klara (12) and son AJ (Aaron Allen Stallmann, Jr.) (9); father Leonard “Lenny” Stallmann and mother Gwen Congiardo Stallmann; brother Jason Stallmann; niece Becca Stallmann and nephew Hunter Stallmann; uncles Roger Stallmann (Jencye) of California, Myran Ambeau (Jackie) of Austin, AR, and Tippy Ambeau (Donna) of Florida; aunt Shirley Hohgrefe (Richard) of Chester, Illinois. Sandra (Sandy) Romeo, 68 of Benton, passed away on February 13, 2018. She was born on October 13, 1949 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Joseph and Iris Sutton Romeo. Sandra graduated from the Police Academy in 1978 and worked for the Benton Police Department until transferring to the Sheriff’s office in 1984, where she retired as Detective Sargent with the Criminal Investigating Division. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marilyn Moraino and Jo Beth Romeo. Sandy is survived by her aunt, Marilyn Applegate of Georgia, numerous cousins and a host of friends, she never met a stranger and made you feel like she had known you forever. Alva Donald Bowen, 81 of Benton, stepped into Heaven on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. He was born on August 9, 1936 in Benton, Arkansas to the late Alva and Alice Bowen. Donald was of the Baptist faith, having received the Lord Jesus in his heart at Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas. He proudly served his country, serving in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. After 21 years of military service, he received an Honorable discharge. Donald was a Vietnam War veteran. Upon completion of his military service, he used his airplane mechanic and jet engine mechanic knowledge to work with Lear Siegler Corporation in Okinawa, Japan, the Dynalectron Corporation in Germany at Bitburg Air Force Base, the Bowing Company in Seattle, Washington, Lockheed/Martin at Little Rock Air Force Base and Raytheon Aerospace at Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia. Donald loved taking cruises around the world with his precious wife, Cecil, being at home in Benton, feeding his birds, taking care of his cat, Panther and even keeping the Magnolia leaves picked up around the huge Magnolia tree in the front yard. Donald never met a stranger and always had a story to tell you. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven Bowen and daughter, Linda Sue Bowen. Katherine “Embry” Kindy, age 95 of Bryant, passed away on February 7, 2018. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late, Sydney and Rena Chrestman on February 18, 1922. She loved to garden, craft, travel the world, and spend time with family. Embry’s yard could have easily been the cover of a magazine. She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church and the owner/operator of Embry’s Beauty Shop. Embry is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd O. Winnie Marie Anderson Harrison, 76, of Benton passed away February 8, 2018. She was born on May 3, 1941 in New DeRoche, AR to the late Jesse Anderson and Lorene Carpenter. Mrs. Harrison was a former employee of Hawker-Beechcraft as an upholsterer. Jenada Sutton, 95, of Benton, passed away Friday, February 09, 2018. She was born December 24, 1922 in Little Rock to the late CJ and Jennie McCardell Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Herbert Sutton; son, Michael David Sutton; granddaughter, Kimberly Marie Sutton; four sisters, Eda Hogue, Vera Goudie, Jewell Whitwell, and Clara Fleming, and two brothers, Robert (Jack) and CJ Walker. Jenada retired from the Little Rock School District after working many years. She was a member of Church of Rock Creek in Little Rock and belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. Raymond Eugene Thomas, age 90, passed from this life on February 14, 2018. Raymond was born March 4, 1927 to the late Oscar and Stella Thomas. He was a lifelong resident of Benton, and a successful business man with an uncanny ability to make friends. In 1946, Raymond married the love of his life, Veda Jo Hall. After serving time in the U.S. Navy they settled in Benton to raise a family. For the next 71 years he gave to his family, and to his community. Raymond was especially dedicated to his church, First Baptist Church in Benton, where he served in many capacities, including the building committee. He was also very proud of his Naval service in both World War II and Korea. Preceding Raymond in death were his parents; siblings, Berneice, Francis, Clyde, and Gerry Vonne; and son, Steve. He is survived by his wife, Jo; sister, Freda; sons, Bruce and Beau; grandchildren, Ashley, Derek, Kacie, and Emma; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring individuals at the VA Hospice, Saline Hospice, and private care providers. It is with a broken heart that we share the passing of our precious wife, mother, and grandmother. Laura Jo Wingfield, 88, of Benton, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2018 in the ever present care of her family. She was born June 11, 1929 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Eugene and Annette (O’Neal) Meador. Laura was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a great example of a Godly lady and cherished her church family. Laura was a devoted and loving wife and mother-even to her “four-legged children.” Laura and her husband enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and relaxing and are members of the Circle D Camping Club. Spending time playing card games such as Uno, Skip Bo, and other board games was one of her favorite pastimes. She even taught her grandson, Andy, and he became a card shark. Reading was a passion and Laura read anything she could get her hands on. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing special meals and desserts for her family. Laura worked as a cafeteria manager for the Little Rock School District. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Wingfield; three brothers: Chuck, Richard, and Dale Meador; and one sister, Jean Graham. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Ezra Wingfield of Benton, Arkansas; daughter, Kay Powell and her husband Keith of Benton, Arkansas; grandchildren: Andy Powell and wife McKenzie, Lindsey Wingfield, and Brian Wingfield; two great-granddaughters: Goldie Powell and Zoe Wingfield; and a host of family and friends who love Laura and will miss her always.
