John G. (JG) Browning, Sr. 87 of Benton, went to be with his Savior on February 3, 2023. He was born on April 15, 1935 in Lonsdale, Arkansas to the late James Frank and Laura H. Houpt Browning. John was a veteran of the United States Army and member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.
John loved to sing with his group, The Kentucky Gospel Pickers and went to numerous nursing homes around Saline County. Singing was his ministry and he loved the Lord.
He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding his deer and birds brought many hours of enjoyment for him. JG also loved spending time with his family.
JG will be remembered for his contagious laugh, humor and being a devoted husband, father, and papa; for his strong faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ.
John was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 64 years, Frances Browning; two brothers, five sisters and grandson, Jacob McClintic.
He is survived by his son, John G. (Jennifer) Browning, Jr., daughters, Pamela Ann Browning of Benton, De (Dale) Schimmel of Bryant, Janet (Dennis) McClintic of Morrilton; five grandchildren, Brixey (David) Hendrix, Matthew (Morgan) McClintic, Bailey (Ross) Smith, Brittany (Ben) Cash and Hannah Browning. Great Grandchildren are Whitlee Cash, Eden Hendrix, Berklee Cash and Emberlee Cash.
Visitation will be held at Ashby Funeral Home on Sunday, 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 6th with burial to follow at Ten Mile Cemetery.
Leila May Reddick, 50, of Benton, Arkansas passed away February 2, 2022. She was born on December 22, 1972 in Santa Cruz, California.
Leila was dearly loved by her family. Her husband, John, referred to her as the Queen of their home. Leila cherished time spent with her husband and son watching movies and old television shows. John spoiled Leila, and the two were always together holding hands. She was a very hard worker and worked for many years at the Arkansas Health Center.
Preceding Leila in death are her parents, Chris Johnson and Trudy Pauline Wright.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, John Reddick; son, Roy Reddick; daughter, Trudy Russell; two grandchildren, Skylar and Cloud; uncle, Frank Wright, who they affectionately call “Uncle Mickey” and his wife Sherry; special friend, “Aunt Pat”; and many more family members and friends who love Leila and will miss her always.
Memorial service will be held Friday, February 17, at 1:00 PM, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas.
