William “Billy” Ledbetter, 67, of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was born to the late, Luther “Snooks” and Pauline Ledbetter, on Wednesday, September 15, 1954, in Benton, Arkansas. Throughout his life, his passion was janitorial work. He also was a truck driver. Billy absolutely loved music, and he loved recording music. He was definitely an Elvis Presley fan. He also was an avid collector who enjoyed collecting model cars and vinyl records. He enjoyed spending his days going to thrift stores, tinkering on anything he could get his hands on, and socializing. He was such a people person. His life was so full of people who loved him, and he loved them back. He loved talking to people and sharing stories. He was always teasing and making jokes, and he never met a stranger! His biggest loves were drawing and playing pool. He was so creative and such a fun person, but nothing compared to his family. His greatest inspiration was taking care of his family—especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Billy was a fighter. He never gave up, even at the end. He will be truly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Thressa Ledbetter; and his best friends, Randy Child, Everett Stout, and Jimmy Stout. He is survived by his significant other of 14 years, Nancy Ledbetter; son, Brian Ledbetter and his wife, Allison; daughter, Joani Ward; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Edward Ledbetter; four sisters, Linda Davis, Mary Lou Pierce, Ruth Hill, and Rebecca Lovell; along with a host of other family and friends who all love and will miss him dearly. JoAnn Shell, 73, of Lonsdale, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. She was born to the late, Odie and Lizzie Hunnicutt, on Thursday, November 18, 1948, in Benton, Arkansas. JoAnn loved being outside and she loved animals. She was so kind that she raised a baby deer! She enjoyed spending her time playing Bingo, and she used to beg her family to take her. She liked going to Oaklawn from time to time, and her favorite color was purple—not just any purple but a light purple! When she was able, she enjoyed her crossword puzzles. She was a proud homemaker who loved church and her family—especially her grandchildren! She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Paula Shell; son, George Shell; husband, Tommy Shell; four sisters, Bonnie Smith, Opal Smith, Faye Quinn, and Margie Huchingson; two brothers, Odie and Otis Hunnicutt. On January 26, 2022, Florence Lenore “Pat” Henningsen passed away at home surrounded by family in Malvern, AR at the age of 88. Pat, as she was known to family and friends, was born January 1934 in Bauxite, AR, to Charlie and Eva Broadway. She married George “Burt” Henningsen Sr. on June 17, 1952, whom she met after her father moved the family to Wyoming in search of work. Eventually, they returned to Arkansas, were married for 49 years and together raised three children. In addition to being a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Pat was actively involved with the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and served in several Arkansas Grand Chapter positions. She enjoyed her time of retirement from Benton State Bank (Regions Bank). Pat was a member of Spring Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, AR. To all who knew her, Pat Henningsen will be remembered as a kind-hearted and compassionate wife, mother, and friend. Pat is survived by her children – George Henningsen Jr. (Donna) of Houston, TX, Cindi Norwood of Malvern, AR, and Gary Henningsen (Teri) of Benton, AR; siblings – Audrey Webb, Bobbie Edmonson, John “Bud” Broadway (Anne), and Brenda Smith (Earl) of Bauxite, AR; grandchildren – Dr. Jessica Scott of Little Rock, AR, Timothy Scott (Megan) of Bauxite, AR, and Tyler Henningsen of Fayetteville, AR; four great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and extended family. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, George “Burt” Henningsen Sr.; parents -Charlie and Eva Broadway; siblings – Charles D. Broadway and Carolyn Nalley; and son-in-law Bart Norwood. Joan Hopkins passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022 in the arms and hearts of her loving family. She was born on March 5, 1934 in Benton, AR and was 87 years old. Joan is survived by two daughters, Tracie (Beau) Lindley and Tricia (Rudy) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, TX, and son, David (Krista) Hopkins of Benton; first cousin Patsy Percy of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Melissa Knippa of McEwen, TN, Martin Diegel of Corpus Christi, TX, and Griffin Hopkins of Benton; three great grandchildren, Annabelle Knippa of McEwen, TN and Colton and Cason Diegel of Corpus Christi, TX; as well as her honorary daughter, Danielle Browning of Benton. Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David V. Hopkins of 69 years, her parents, Beecher and Willie (Bill) Davenport, and her sister, Mary Beth Herlein. Joan enjoyed working with her mother for many years at Bill’s Flower Shop and traveling all over the world with her beloved David. Her children and grandchildren were her life. We will miss her so very much. A private ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, AR. Kathleen Virginia Moore, age 87, of North Little Rock, AR., passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022. She was born June 16, 1934, in Miami, Florida to John L. and Mildred V. (Gillette) Bissett. She was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family! She worked many years for Park Hill Baptist as a Preschool Teacher. She had a love of football (especially the Minnesota Vikings), the fire department, animals and Nascar. She was known as the little sweet lady who had a spunky nature, that made those around her laugh and feel loved. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother John Lawrence Bissett, Jr. and her husband Tommy Frank Moore. She is survived by her loving children Charles Ronald Moore, Mary Sue Nony (husband, Kenny), Teresa Diane Estabrook, and Andrew Jonathan Moore (wife, Rachael). She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Virginia Segriest, Philip Moore, Charlie Moore, Amanda Inman, Heidi Green, Matthew Tull, Mason Tull, 14 great grandchildren and host of family and friends.
How beautiful Heaven must be as our beloved Mother, Billie Ruth Corley will see now that she has joined our Father and her Heavenly Father. She passed from this earth January 25, 2022 in Temple, Texas. She was a loving example of what a Christian woman should be and left a legacy for us to follow. She was a member of the Church of Christ from an early age until her death at 95 years. Her life started in Memphis, Texas, and was the youngest of 9 children. She lived for a short time in Eastland, Texas and later moved to Lamesa, Texas. She met John Corley, Jr. in Lamesa and they were married on September 22, 1945. They enjoyed a loving marriage for 50 years before his death in 1995. They had a daughter, Jonnie Ruth, in Lamesa and moved to Hobbs, New Mexico where a son, John, was born to them and they spent many more years in Hobbs raising a family. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Lea General Hospital and worshiped and enjoyed many activities at the Taylor Street Church of Christ while there. They had an opportunity to become co-owners of Pioneer Whetstone Company in Hot Springs, Arkansas and moved there. She worked alongside our Dad in their whetstone business for many years. After his death she moved to Gorman, Texas and lived next door to her daughter Jonnie Ruth and husband, Mike. No matter what came up in life she was always there to support and help her family. She had a fun-loving nature and enjoyed life. She went on many arrowhead hunts with our Dad and camping trips to the Gila Wilderness. In her later years she enjoyed road trips to Fredericksburg with family. She was a talented painter, made quilts and afghans for family and loved to play Yahtzee, card games and 42. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jonnie Ruth Jones and husband Mike, and her son, John Aaron Corley, III and wife Jean. Her grandsons, Michael, Lance, Matt and wife Jennifer, and granddaughters, Christie Johnson and husband Ben, April Jones and husband Jacob, Robin Humes and husband Chris. And all of her wonderful great grandchildren and great great grandchildren which she dearly loved. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Roller Alcoa Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. Tennye Sue Dinsmore, 91, of Texarkana, Texas passed away on January 29, 2022, in Texarkana Texas. Tennye was born in Caddo Gap, Arkansas to Jim and Georgia Baldwin on December 3, 1930. She worked as a state employee for the Benton Service Center for more than 30 years. She was very passionate about reading and making sure her family was always fed. Tennye is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene “Red” Dinsmore; and son, Donald Dinsmore. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Betty) Dinsmore, Jeff (Marty) Baldwin; daughter-in-law, Donna Dinsmore; 6 Grandchildren, Kristina Dinsmore, Jeremy Dinsmore, B.J. Linda Kyzer, 61, of Bauxite, AR passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at her home. Linda was born in Birmingham, Alabama to James and Dorothy Phillips who preceded her in death. A longtime employee of Southwest Airlines Reservation Center, she was furloughed when they closed their offices in 2004. Recently she was employed by Civitan. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Tracy Kyzer, son Peyton Kyzer, daughter MeKenna Williams (Mykel) and a very special family friend Lois Watson – aka known as Sugar Nana, all of Bauxite. Linda was a beloved homemaker tending to her family’s every need. She loved to travel, spend time at the casinos, and go “junkin”. Neighbors considered her the best neighborhood watchman and depended on her to keep their area safe and protected. A memorial service will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 24310 N. Rebecca (Becky) Ann Sowell Tully, age 60, of Magnet Cove, left this life for eternal life with Jesus Christ her Savior on Friday, January 28, 2022. Becky was born to Loyce Lee Sowell, Jr. and Dorothea Maxine Otts Sowell on July 26, 1961, the oldest of five children. She was a graduate of Magnet Cove High School Class of 1979 and retired from the VA Medical Center as the Chief Accountant, where she had worked for 34 years. Becky was a member of the Benton Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Monte Ray Sowell. Survivors include her husband and love of her life of nearly 43 years, Michael (Mike) Tully of Glen Rose; son, Jeremy (Stephanie) Tully of Magnet Cove; daughter, Melissa Tully of Magnet Cove; grandchildren, Aubrey Tully, Hayden Tully, Kami Mooney, and Kade Mooney all of Magnet Cove; three sisters, Robbin (Tracy) McDermott of Enola, Rachel Ezzell of Denver, Colorado, and Jackie Owens of Magnet Cove; step-father, Jodie Owens of Magnet Cove; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. Becky loved all of her family deeply and selflessly. She loved to travel anywhere and everywhere with her best friend and soulmate, Mike, her kids, grandkids, or friends. Becky enjoyed trivia & history and made sure everyone in the family experienced national landmarks, historical sites, and famous locations. She also enjoyed reading, writing short stories, and baking the most delicious cakes, cookies, and breads. Becky will be missed by all who knew her and a Memorial Service will be held in her honor at Ashby Funeral Home in Benton on Saturday February 19 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service. Lillie Beckwith, 92, of Bryant, AR peacefully but powerfully flew to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born in Strong, AR to James and Pearl (Cobb) McKinney, and was one of 6 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wilbur McKinney, as well as sisters Opal Poe, Merlynn Ware, and Sue McKinney. Lillie was loved by many but will be missed most by family members who remain and remember the many wonderful years and precious memories. These include Kenneth , her husband of 57 years, her daughter Karen Webb and favorite son-in-law David, her grandsons Jared, Galen, and Caleb (and soon to be granddaughter-in-law Katelyn Still), and her sister Janeece Parker. David W. Darter, age 68, of Bryant, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at his home in Bryant, Arkansas. David was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on February 8, 1953 to parents Bob and Anne Darter. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, Justin Darter. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Vickie Darter; daughter Sarah Moore (Jason); grandchildren Zachary Darter, Cora Jones and Ava Moore; brother Rob Darter and sister Joanne Yandell. Phyllis Suzanne Kidd, 63, of Benton, AR passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Arline Hammett, sister Cindy Thomas, and daughter Amy, born sleeping. Left to cherish her memory are her husband James Kidd, son Christopher Kidd, daughter Robin Kidd, stepsons Brian and Travis, sister Fran Birdwell (Don), niece Angie Birdwell, nephew Bryan Birdwell, niece Paige Keracik, brother-in-law Mark Kidd (Jennifer), niece Allison Covington (James) and her sweet kitties- Harvey Xavier, Martin Ulysses, Quincy Theodore, Winslow Washington, puppy Priscilla Rose, grandkitties Nibbles, Grayson, ND, and bearded dragons Matilda and Pico. A Christian, she was a lifelong Baptist, accomplished ceramicist, beloved homemaker, houseplant and landscaping enthusiast, comedic substitute teacher, Benton Band booster, and a sweet helper around the community. The family would like to extend a thanks to Saline Memorial Hospital including her doctors, nurses (both local and travel), and CNAs in the ICU and 5th floor with special recognition of Nurses Amy and Rebecca, and nursing assistant, Delisa, who went above and beyond to care for her in her final days and hours. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29 at Ashby Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Tina Elizabeth Carter, 59 of Bryant, passed away on January 26, 2022. She was born on February 28, 1962 in Benton to the late James and Martha White Croslin. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Croslin. Tina is survived by her son, Jeffrey Carter, daughter, Beth Carter, brothers, Carl Croslin, Quentin Goodwin and sisters, Pondsheila Pool and Jaime Dunn; five grandchildren. Kenny Danner, age 70, of Benton, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was born July 1, 1951 in Prattsville, Arkansas to a loving mother Dorothy Robinson and the late T. J. Danner. Kenny was reared in Prattsville and graduated High School there in 1969. He married Betty Cooper and to this union four children was born. He enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and kidding around with his family and friends; and going to his family reunions. Kenny served in the U. S. Army, was a strong believer in God and loved his family dearly. He was very kind, and would do whatever was asked and would give the shirt off his back if he thought you were in need. Kenny worked many years at Alcoa in Benton and transferred to Indiana where he worked for many years. He later moved back to Arkansas and worked at a plant in Sheridan where he retired. Kenny was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Reginold Robinson. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Betty Danner; three sons, Kenny Danner Sr. of Hot Springs, Marquette Danner (Diane) of Marion, and Fitzgerald Danner of Malvern; daughter, Tonya Lomack of Hot Springs; mother, Dorothy Robinson; three brothers, Vincent Robinson, Jerome Robinson, and Vertis Cooper; two sisters, Verlene Smith and Sheila Cooper; nineteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
