You might be able to help a servant dog that has helped so many others. You may know that a K-9 that was working at Bryant Schools recently retired due to medical issues. Her name is Mya and she served the high school for about 5 years with her training in narcotics.
Mya’s handler, Officer Chad Winkler and a co-worker officer, Samantha Hodges are looking to get ACL surgery for this special dog. There is a fund set up to help with surgery and recovery. You can donate at www.gofundme.com/f/retired-sro-k9.
All donations will go toward her surgery and recovery. Mya’s vet is Matthew Field DVM with Arkansas Veterinary Emergency & Specialists. In October 2022, her handler brought her to see Dr. Field because of limping in her right hind leg. She was diagnosed with a right CrCL (cranial cruciate ligament) tear, similar to an ACL tear in humans, which has an excellent prognosis following TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) stabilization surgery.
