Nissan representatives and Benton dignitaries turn over the first dirt for the new McLarty Nissan dealership in Benton.
30,000 square feet of showroom, 75 new jobs and 576 parking spaces. McLarty Automotive Group (MAG) broke ground on a new Nissan dealership on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 in Benton. The groundbreaking took place on the property Wednesday over lunch time, with about 150 people in attendance. The location is 19960 Interstate 30 North, or you may know it as the former lot for Warren Homes.
This expansion from MAG will bring their total employee number to over 500 in central Arkansas. The dealership will cost about $10 million to build.
MAG currently owns and operates six automotive dealerships in central Arkansas. They include McLarty Honda, McLarty Nissan of Little Rock, McLarty Nissan of North Little Rock, McLarty Mazda, McLarty Volkswagen and McLarty Auto Sales.
Based in Little Rock, MAG currently owns and operates a total of 17 dealerships with nearly 1,500 employees. It represents Chrysler, Dodge, FIAT, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep, Lincoln, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Toyota and Volkswagen. MAG is led by founder and chairman Mark McLarty, CEO Charles Oglesby, vice chairman Paul Hart and CFO Michael Holland. McLarty, a fourth-generation auto industry veteran, previously built leading dealership groups in Brazil, China and Mexico before founding McLarty Automotive Group in 2014.
