An Alexander woman says she is still trying to process the reality of winning $1 million on an Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) scratch-off ticket. The winner, elected to remain anonymous. She claimed her prize on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the ASL Claim Center in Little Rock.
The woman won the last top prize to come from the Twenty Dollar $1,000,000 Riches scratch-off ticket. She purchased the winning ticket from Vimy Food Mart, 12024 Vimy Ridge Road in Alexander. Retailers receive a 1 percent commission from the sale of winning lottery products. Vimy Food Mart will receive a $10,000 commission check for selling the winning ticket.
The winner said she plays the lottery regularly. She is the 94th person that has won a lottery prize worth $1 million or more in Arkansas since 2009. With her winnings, she plans to pay bills and purchase a house.

According to the Arkansas Lottery Commission, more than 92 cents of every dollar of ASL revenue goes to prizes, scholarships, retailer commissions, and other expenses in Arkansas. Since 2009, the lottery has raised more than $1.2 billion in proceeds for scholarships. More than 675,000 college scholarships have been awarded to Arkansans. The lottery has awarded more than $4.5 billion in prizes to players, about $375 million in retailer commissions, and provided more than $163 million in state and federal tax revenue.
