Central Arkansas Development Council (CADC) announced today that the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP Utility Assistance program will begin the week of Tuesday, February 20, 2018 and continue as long as funds are available. The day and times of when applications will be taken are listed below for the 19 counties in the CADC service area: Calhoun, Clark, Columbia, Dallas, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Howard, Layfette, Little River, Lonoke, Miller, Montgomery, Nevada, Ouachita, Pike, Pulaski, Saline, Sevier and Union. YOU are responsible for providing the required information that applies to you and your household.
These items are required whether you receive these benefits or not.
Ø Required Information:
o Government Issued ID
o Copies of utility bills-gas, electric, and/or propane
o Knowledge of resources such as: checking, savings and other asset totals
o Please be advised that you might be asked for further documentation at time of interview when submitting application.
Ø Proof of income for all households members 18 years and older from previous month.
o This includes all check stubs that have a pay date in the previous month.
o If check stubs are not available, an earnings statement must be completed by your employer.
Ø Proof of unemployment for all household members 18 years or older that are unemployed.
o This is required even if you do not receive any unemployment benefits.
o You will need to go to the unemployment office and they can print out what you have or have not received in the last month. Please note that you will need 2 forms of ID to obtain printout.
o If you have lost your job within the last 60 days we will need an unemployment printout in addition to a statement from your employer that states your last date of employment and any income that was received in the previous month.
o If anyone is a full time student who is unemployed they will also need a letter from the school stating that he or she is a full time student.
Ø Proof of Social Security, Retirement, Pensions, Workman’s Comp, or Disability
o You will need a copy of your award letter for the current year.
o We cannot accept a copy of your bank statement.

Ø Proof of utility allowance
o If you live in government housing or receive rental assistance we need a letter from the Housing Authority that states whether or not you receive a utility reimbursement check.
o Even if you do not receive a reimbursement check each month we still need a letter from them stating that you do not get one.
Ø If you have no income
o We need proof of how you have been paying your bills. If someone has helped you, we need a contribution statement from each person who helped you in the previous month.
o We also need you to get an unemployment printout for all household members who are 18 or older.
We MUST have Social Security numbers and Birthdates for ALL Household Members

- Ward: Beginning on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted by appointment only at the Ward Municipal Complex located at 405 Hickory Street in Ward, AR. You must call the Lonoke CADC Office at 501-676-0019 to make an appointment.
Miller County
- Texarkana: There will be a CADC LIHEAP Day on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 9 am until 1:00 pm at the Life House Outreach Ministry located at 915 East Street in Texarkana.
- Then, beginning on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Tuesday’s only from 8:00 A.M. until 12 noon, at the Life House Outreach Ministry located at 915 East Street in Texarkana.
Montgomery County
- Mt. Ida: Beginning on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Wednesday’s only from 8 A.M. until 11 A.M., at the CADC Mt Ida Senior Activity Center located at 158 Senior Drive in Mt. Ida, AR 71957.
Nevada County
- Prescott: Beginning on Monday, February 26, 2018, the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Monday’s only from 8:30 A.M. until 12 noon at the Prescott County Office located at 118 West Elm in Prescott.
Ouachita County
- Camden: Beginning on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, the 2018 Crisis Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Monday’s, Tuesday’s andWednesday’s from 8 A.M. until 12 noon. (or until the first 30 people are signed in) at the Camden CADC office located at 313 Jefferson in Camden, AR 71701.

Pike County
- Murfreesboro. Beginning Monday February 26, 2018 Crisis LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Mondays from 8 A.M. until 10 A.M. at the Murfreesboro Senior Adult Center located at 120 East Court in Murfreesboro, AR
Pulaski County
- Little Rock: There will be a CADC LIHEAP Day on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 and on Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M. each day, at Mosaic Church located at 6221 Colonel Glenn Road Little Rock Arkansas (The old K-Mart Building)
- Then, beginning on Monday, February 26, 2018, the 2018 Winter LIHEAP applications will be accepted on Monday’s, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’sfrom 8 A.M. to 12 noon (or until the first 175 people are signed in) at the CADC office in the Little Rock Workforce Center located at 5401 S University in Little Rock, AR 72204.
