We look for extraordinary Christmas light displays every year and this one just east of Shannon Hills is a big deal in a few ways. They call it “a big piece of Christmas on a tiny dirt road.” Shane Johnson started a light show last year and has greatly expanded it this year. There are over 10,000 flashing lights over two houses, eight color-changing trees, two leaping arches, a mega-tree, and a light fan, all set to music.
The show draws attention to the cause of helping sick children through the Make-a-Wish Foundation. There is a website that explains the light setup, gives the street address and asks fans to donate to Make-a-Wish. This is all wonderful already and then you find out that Shane is only 15 years old. Yep.
The show is scheduled to play nightly through January 1st, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hours expand on Christmas Eve – They’ll come on at 4:00 p.m. and display all the way through Christmas day and night, ending at midnight. The lights won’t display if there is inclement weather. Updates will show on their Facebook page. Drive by to see the show and be sure to make a donation as well.
