Below are the in-person and virtual programs taking place at the Saline County Library during the week of November 13-18. 
Monday, November 13
Sensory Storytime
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Benton Branch, Meeting Room
This program is specifically designed for children with autism, sensory processing disorder, ADHD or who have difficultly sitting still, but we welcome anyone who wants to participate! Email Ms. Dana at [email protected] with any questions, or to request a library social story.
Board Together – Tabletop Gaming for Teens!

Ages 13-18
Don’t have enough players for your favorite board game? Stop by our weekly hangout with a friend or meet a new one! We’ll play a different game each week, so be sure to join us!  
Benton Book Club

Join us as we discuss books in these genres: historical fiction, thrillers (but no horror), unusual and touching stories, and books with interesting facts! If you are interested in joining the Benton Book Club, come to any of the meetings! No registration required!

Toddler Storytime

Join Mrs. Wendy for this fun, active storytime designed just for toddlers. We will enjoy rhymes, flannel stories, songs, books, and instruments. After storytime, we’ll enjoy some playtime together.

Rising Star Players (After-school Session)

Rising Stars is an acting class for kids! In the first few sessions we’ll cover the basics of acting. During the remainder of the program, our young actors will be auditioning for and then performing in a show! Registration required. 

Teen Dungeons & Dragons Campaign (New)

Ages 13-18
The adventure begins! Come start a new Dungeons & Dragons campaign with us! This program is for teens who did not participate in our spring campaign. All teens welcome, no matter experience level. We will go over character creation and behavior expectations in our first session. Registration required.
SCL Bingo

Join us on Facebook for SCL Bingo! Once the live video starts, we’ll send virtual Bingo cards to all of the players! We’ll play three games, and each winner will receive a prize!

Adult Art Studio

Ages 18+

Explore and create art in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere! Participants will explore a variety of art techniques and media. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting paint on! All materials provided, while supplies last. Registration recommended but not required. If you are waitlisted, please feel free to attend anyway!

Beginner American Sign Language

Ages 9+
In this weekly class we’ll cover the basics of American Sign Language and answer any questions you may have! Each week we will expand upon what we learned the previous week. This class is open to anyone ages 9 and up. No registration required!
Anime Club

Ages 13-18
Each week we will watch anime TV shows or movies while crafting, talking, and snacking! Previous anime shows we’ve watched include Hunter x Hunter, Spy x Family, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball Z!
Adult D&D Night – Campaign B

Dungeons & Dragons has been a fixture in American tabletop gaming for over 40 years! Now’s your chance to get in on the action! The Saline County Library is hosting a monthly D&D night! Come together as we complete daring quests and defeat dangerous foes! Registration is required for this event.

Stop by the Teen Area at the Bryant branch every Thursday for a new activity just for teens! November 16 will serve as a check-in for our read-along! We’ll discuss what we’ve been reading and then enter a prize drawing!

Up your holiday hosting game as we learn how to dress your charcuterie board to impress your guests! We’ll create easy, edible garnishes that look amazing! All materials provided, while supplies last. Registration required.

Rising Star Players (Homeschool Session)

Tai Chi for Beginners
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Benton Branch, Meeting Room
Ages 18+
Jo Tabor, a Certified Personal Trainer and fitness coach, will teach participants the basics of Tai Chi. This is a program geared towards beginning practitioners, but all skill levels are welcome. Dress comfortably for movement. Registration is encouraged but not required. If you are waitlisted, please feel free to show up anyway!

Fall Photo Minis
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

All Ages
Save your timeslot to have your fall photos taken by a local photographer! Each group will be given a 10-minute timeslot. Your photos will be emailed to you approximately 1-2 weeks after your session. Registration required. One registration per group, max group size of 7. International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Ages 18+
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will join us to provide support and help for anyone considering suicide or who has lost a loved one to suicide.
