Looking for a little time to get away from it all and just craft? Join us for a new craft every week in the Benton Makerspace! Each Tuesday we will start and finish a different craft, from jewelry to custom cards! All materials will be provided. Patrons will get to take home what they make! Registration required. Please be aware that you must register for sessions individually, registering for one class does not register you for all four classes.

The Pencil Pack – Tween Journalism Club

Ages 8-12
Interested in journalism, writing, drawing, or photography? Come join the Pencil Pack! Add your spark to our monthly library newspaper in this journalism club for beginners. We’ll learn the basics of writing a good article, then we’ll create content to be published in our own monthly library newspaper, just for kids!
Leather Working Workshop (EVENT IS FULL)

With help from our friends from Tandy Leather, patrons will learn how to tool and stain leather while creating a custom leather bookmark! All materials will be provided. Registration required.

Preschool Art Studio

Ages 3-5
Preschoolers will get hands-on experience using different mediums as they learn to express themselves through art! We’ll complete a new project every week, and you’ll go home with a masterpiece! We may get messy, so please dress appropriately!
Tai Chi for Beginners

Ages 18+
Jo Tabor, a Certified Personal Trainer and fitness coach, will teach participants the basics of Tai Chi. This is a program geared towards beginning practitioners, but all skill levels are welcome! Please dress comfortably for movement.

Summer Reading Family Fun Fest

Join us in Alexander to kick off the 2024 Summer Reading program! We’ll have a bounce house, petting zoo, games, and more! And don’t forget to sign up for our Summer Reading Challenge! The event is hosted at Alexander City Park (15665 Robert Evans Rd, Alexander) and is outside, so please dress accordingly. Snacks and water will be provided, in limited quantities.
Chess Day

Chess is a strategy-based board game that has existed for centuries. While it was once considered a game for only military leaders or the wealthy, today it can be enjoyed by anyone! Whether you’re an experienced player or a novice, stop by for some fun and camaraderie! If you don’t know how to play but want to learn, drop in and we’ll teach you!
