President of the Republican Party of Saline County PAC Steve Lux writes the following Letter to the Editor on June 3, 2024 —
NO CONFIDENCE IN THE SALINE COUNTY REPUBLICAN COMMITTEE
The purpose of the Saline County Republican Committee, the purpose of any party committee or other official party organization, is to aid in the election of Republican candidates to office (and to fill roles as designated by the party rules). THIS is their reason for existence. Certainly, there will be individuals in disagreement from time to time with their party’s elected congressional delegation or other elected officials. But it is highly inappropriate for the official committee to issue a press release in its name that calls out our two Senators and our Congressman with a vote of “No Confidence” as the Saline County Republican Committee did a few weeks ago. The Committee’s action undermines the campaign work conducted in support of our nominee, Congressman Hill, and therefore conflicts with the purpose of the county committee itself.

As noted above, the “No Confidence” vote was also levied against Senator Tom Cotton. Cotton is now on a short list of contenders to be the vice-presidential running mate with former President Donald Trump. The Committee’s action works against Senator Cotton and thus negatively impacts the presidential campaign as well. We the Republican Party of Saline County PAC believe Tom Cotton to be a most worthy choice to be a vice-presidential running mate and support him fully, if he is selected.
In sum, the Saline County Republican Committee has worked against Congressman Hill and Senators Boozman and Cotton with the issuance of their “No Confidence” vote. This is evidence that it is the Saline County Republican Committee itself that merits the No Confidence label.
We, the Republican Party of Saline County PAC, are individuals who helped make the Republican Party the majority party in Saline County and in this State. We have lost our confidence in the Saline County Republican Committee (not only in the issuance of their No Confidence vote, but also in their general conduct marked by the loss of civility and the inability to operate with transparency and fair play).
Issued by the Republican Party of Saline County PAC
Steve Lux, President
