PUBLIC NOTICE – RATE INCREASE
The City Council of the City of Shannon Hills, Arkansas (the “City”) will hold a
public hearing for a proposed Ordinance amending the water and sewer rates to be collected
by the City for users of the City’s waterworks and sanitary sewer system on November 21,
2023. A public hearing on the rates as introduced will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
November 21, 2023, during the regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council at the
regular meeting place of the City Council, at City Hall located at 10401 High Road East,
Shannon Hills, Arkansas 72103.
Any interested person may appear before the City Council at that meeting to
present protests or to be heard for or against the rates. This notice is given pursuant to Ark.
Code Ann. § 14-235-223 and Ark. Code Ann. § 14-234-214.
The following rates are proposed to be effective beginning December 1, 2023:
Monthly Usage and Schedule of Rates. The water and sewer usage of each user is
determined each month by meter measurement, and each user pays an amount for water
usage computed on the basis of the following schedule of rates:
Water Rates
First 1,500 Gallons (minimum charge) $20.00
All over 1,500 Gallons $6.21 per 1,000 Gallons
Sewer Rates
First 1,500 Gallons (minimum charge) $24.00
All over 1,500 Gallons $5.36 per 1,000 Gallons
