The Saline County Republican Committee will host their annual Lincoln Day Reception and Dinner on Tuesday, April 23rd at the Benton Event Center. This year, the featured speaker will be U.S. House of Representatives Minority Whip Steve Scalise. The reception is set to begin at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. U.S. Representative French Hill and Steve Womack, Governor Asa Hutchinson, Lt. Governor Tim Griffin, Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, Secretary of State John Thurston, Land Commissioner Tommy Land and RPA Chairman Doyle Webb will also be in attendance.
Scalise represents the 1st Congressional District of Louisiana and is the Minority Whip, the second highest position in House Republican leadership. He has been a U.S. Congressman since 2008. Scalise was critically wounded in a failed assassination attempt on him and other Republican Congressmen in 2017.
