A little bit of magic entered Benton on Friday morning as a little boy named Mason Bybee and his family entered Landers Chevrolet… to discover that they would be the recipient of a Make-a-Wish trip to Disney World. Mason will turn three on his birthday November 11th and has already undergone two open-heart surgeries in his short life. He needs a third surgery but doctors say he doesn’t currently qualify to do it. So while the family waits for one opportunity, they are taking another opportunity to have great family time at “the happiest place on Earth.”
Mason was carried in on his father Shawn’s hip while Mason’s mother Brittany carried his baby sister Callie. They gingerly walked through the automatic door to the showroom, under a giant arch decorated with blue balloons, Mason’s favorite color. Upon entry, they were greeted by General Sales Manager Bill Veuleman leading the staff to say in shout in unison, “Welcome Mason!” It was a beautiful, happy and tearful moment to hear Veuleman tell little Mason that he would be going to Disney World in Orlando, Florida, for a vacation during his birthday week.
Landers Chevrolet is partnering with Make-A-Wish® Mid-South for the month of October. A portion of every car sold in October will go toward granting the wish of an Arkansas child.
