According to the Benton Police Department (BNPD), they are investigating a homicide from an altercation on Wednesday. BNPD responded to a domestic disturbance with weapons at 1216 N. Shady at approximately 1:50 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Officers discovered a female victim with a stab wound and a male subject with multiple dog bite wounds. Both subjects were transported to area hospitals. The female victim, Lila Kilpatrick, 30, of Benton, was later transferred to a Little Rock hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The male subject, Jimmy Kilpatrick, 71, of Benton, underwent minor surgery and will be transferred to jail once released.
BNPD Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene. It appears an argument between the father and daughter escalated, resulting in the father stabbing his daughter and the daughter’s dog attacking the father. The dog also sustained injuries during the dispute and is recovering at an area vet.
