Get ready to learn kayaking, whether you are big or small. The Benton Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Saline River Canoe will host classes for adults and children. The location is Lyle Park in Benton. For the day camps, you should bring a sack lunch.
Adults can register for an all-day camp. The registration period is March 10th – April 21st. You must be at least 17 years old. The cost is $35 per person. Choose from Thursday May 4th or Thursday May 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
You can also sign up your kids for Intro to Kayaking (beginner), Youth Essentials (intermediate), or a One-day Camp. The registration period is April 7th – May 19th. The intro class is June 1st, June 8th, June 15th, June 22nd, and June 29th. The essentials class is for intermediate kayakers, June 9th, and June 16th. In order to take the essentials class, the kayaker must have completed and passed the intro class. The day camp is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The cost is $35 per child.
