According to a letter to all staff of Bryant Schools, Katie Thomas, Principal of Collegeville Elementary, passed away suddenly Saturday morning. She was 37 years old. Katherine “Katie” Anne (Villines) Thomas was born on September 22, 1980 in Springdale, Arkansas and passed away on April 14, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Superintendent Karen Walters had the following to say in an email:
On a personal note, I’ve had two children and a grandchild attend Collegeville with Ms. Thomas at the helm, and we’ve always found her to be professional, compassionate and loved by the students. She will surely be missed by many.

As a testament to her leadership and pride in her work, the last thing she posted publicly on her social media was the recent “A” grade for Collegeville from the Arkansas Department of Education.
