Josh Curtis, candidate for re-election to the Saline County Quorum Court as Justie of the Peace released the following campaign announcement:
Justice of the Peace Josh Curtis is the Republican nominee for Justice of the Peace district 7. “I am grateful that the voters of Saline County have trusted me to represent them on the Quorum Court for 8 years,” Curtis said.
He has lived in Benton his whole life and works for the Association of Arkansas Counties. J.P. Curtis has served in many different arenas, including working at the Secretary of State’s office and Governor Asa Hutchinson’s administration.
“I am proud of the work I have done at the state level, but nothing beats serving my friends and neighbors on the Saline County Quorum Court. I support law and order and stand with our Sheriff Rodney Wright and the deputies he leads. As Co-Chairman of the Finance Committee, I have worked with the Sheriff’s Department to reallocate money for more deputies in our community. Not only did we increase the number of officers, we voted for a new training facility without raising any taxes. This will be the first year the Sheriff’s Office will receive certificate pay for those officers that further their training with additional educational certificates.”
He is a conservative Republican that believes in small limited government. “I have a proven record of working with all elected officials in our county. County Judge Jeff Arey appointed me to serve as Chairman of the Human Resources (HR) committee where we have professionalized our policies to keep up with the private market of employment. Retention has always been a problem with Saline County and as Chairman of the HR committee, I am committed to keeping our qualified employees here in Saline County. We do not want to spend additional tax dollars to train employees only to watch them leave to go to another organization,” he said.
2020 has been a crazy year, most people will remember 2020 as the year of Covid-19. Josh and his wife Megan will remember it as the year their little boy Tucker was born. Curtis enjoys coaching his stepson’s baseball games and taking his family to the lake and the deer woods.
