A Michigan man was in Federal court in Little Rock Wednesday on a charge of “travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct” with a Bryant, Arkansas minor.
On Saturday, October 16, 2021, a Bryant man received a phone app notification that his 12-year-old daughter was outside her allowed area. The father followed the app on his phone and found the girl. She was lying in on the ground with Jeremy Robert Ward, age 32, of Marine City, Michigan. Ward was reported to have been found with his pants down to his ankles and escaped through the woods.
The father got more information about the man through his daughter’s cell phone. It was discovered that Ward is a registered sex offender in Michigan. That charge was several counts of “possession of child sexually abusive material.” The father also discovered Snapchat conversations between Ward and the girl, as well as a video call, and an in-person conversation that the girl recorded on her phone the day before the father found them together.
Ward pleaded innocent of the charge. He is currently in custody of U.S. Marshals. ??Read more details about this case in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
