In August, the IRS updated deadlines for individuals regarding their Economic Impact Payment (EIP).
Individuals who are not required to file a tax return may still be eligible for an EIP. If you believe this is you, please register for a your EIP by using the Non-Filers tool on the IRS website by October 15th to receive your payment.
If you get Social Security, SSI, RRB, or VA benefits and you were not able to receive the additional $500 per qualifying child earlier this year, the IRS reopened the registration period for claiming dependents. Use the Non-Filers tool to provide information about a qualifying child by September 30th in order to receive the additional $500 per child.
If you are still waiting on the $500 supplemental payment for a qualifying child and used the Non-Filers tool to submit this information after May 5th, there is no further action needed. The IRS will automatically issue your catch-up payment in October.
As always, please feel free to contact my office if you have any further questions regarding your EIP. I would also encourage everyone to continue to check the IRS Economic Impact Payment Information Center for regular updates on the payments.
