Five years ago, Saline County resident Justin Morrella took a leap of faith. His dream: to start his own home renovations company based on the principles of quality craftsmanship, communication and cleanliness. His business, named Innovative Renovations, began with one employee, Justin, and one job – painting a room in a house.
Shortly after this first job, the customer called with a problem. Her house had been damaged extensively from flooding and, based upon the quality work she had seen on that very first job of this start-up company, she asked Justin to remodel her entire home. Excited and eager, he put together a quote that was forwarded later that same night. The customer accepted and, as they say, the rest is history. Innovative Renovations was here to stay.
In the five years since that very first job, Justin’s company has grown from one employee to more than 25, along with a host of contractors through which assignments are completed for 55 to 60 customers at a time.
When asked how success has come during such a short span of time in the competitive home renovations industry, Justin attributes the company’s growth several factors.
“First and foremost,” he says, “is our strong attention to communication and cleanliness. We demand this with each other as a company, but, most importantly, with our customers.” Communication is maintained in every step of the process from the initial call from the customer, through successful completion of the project.
“We make sure everyone is on the same page, that we all have the same information from start to finish. Our customers know everything that we do and plan to do. Communication is the key to great customer satisfaction. We appreciate their faith in us. We want to make everything right and exactly the way they have envisioned it.”
Home renovation can be dirty work and while the process is ongoing, customers often feel like they are living in a work zone. Justin makes sure extraordinary steps are in place to help minimize that feeling.
“At the end of every day from start to finish, we clean up the area where we are working. Cleanliness is key and required from all of our employees and any contractors who work on our projects.” says Justin.
His workers place down a paper barrier between the place where they enter the home to the renovation destination in order to prevent damage to floors and carpets. Vacuum cleaners and “Swiffer-type” cleaners and mops are also at the ready to alleviate clutter, dirt and dust that might collect during the work day.
Innovative Renovations handles all jobs – interior and exterior, residential or commercial. No job is too small and no job is too big for their approach to high quality craftsmanship, communication and cleanliness. Their specialty is kitchen and bathroom renovations, but all jobs get the same attention.
