The Saline County Library is hosting its second annual Tween Harry Potter Late Night on Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th. Both events will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 8:30 PM and will be hosted at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library branch in Benton.
“Harry Potter Night was such a success last year and we had such a great time, that we decided to bring it back for a second year,” said Tween Librarian Jessica Hodges. “We will also be giving tweens two chances to experience the magic in case one night fills up faster, or one night works better than the other.”
Tweens ages 8-12 can join us for magical fun with their friends by playing games and doing activities. Each new Hogwarts student will be sorted into a house and compete with their team to earn house points throughout the night. Each wizarding world-themed activity will earn them house points. Some of the activities include the Triwizard Maze, Potter Pictionary and more! The winners of the house cup will receive a special prize.
Both nights are lock-in style events, so tweens should plan to stay for the whole evening so they don’t miss out on house points! Parents and younger siblings will not be allowed to stay in the library, as the library will be closed to the public during that time.
The two nights will feature the same activities, so tweens may only attend one of the two nights. When you go to the library to turn in your child’s contract, you may tell our Youth Services staff which night (Friday or Saturday) you prefer. Attendance will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
You can pick up contracts at either branch of the Saline County Library or find the contract on the Saline County Library Facebook page and website. Contracts must be turned in at the library by Saturday, February 1st.
