Jenny Carlisle, author of Hope Takes the Reins will have copies of her book available for sale, and will be signing copies at the Burger Shack, 107 S. Market in Benton on Thursday, July 21st at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday’s special is Chicken Spaghetti, and owner Dara Moody promises there will also be pie available.
Hope Takes the Reins, published by Scrivenings Press is a contemporary women’s fiction/romance story set in a fictional town in the Arkansas River Valley. Reviewers say, “This debut novel immediately makes you feel like you’ve known the characters and the town forever,” and, “ I loved the journey she took the characters on, with just enough feelings, and some romance of young love.”
Carlisle and her husband live in Benton. They raised their children in Saline County, and all are graduates of Bryant High School. She retired after a career in Human Services with the State of Arkansas. Recently, she has worked part-time as a substitute teacher for Bryant schools. She was a long-time columnist for Ouachita Life magazine, and has published two non-fiction books in addition to her first work of fiction. All three books are available on Amazon.
